Why the Hell would we entertain the idea of a trade down if the best qb's was there? You watch our qb's play any football this year?

First off you need to be repectful of other posters.

Second, I didn't say it was the right thing to do. I feel Jerry go this route because he wants one last taste of glory before he kicks the bucket. Trade down, get an impact player (rb/cb) and get an extra pick or two in the process. A qb sitting on the bench is not going to help in the short term and that's what Jerry is concerned with.

Also neither of the two qbs being speculated as first round qbs are even being talked about as #1 overall prospects. There is no Cam Newton or Andrew Luck in this draft.

No matter how this draft goes for the Cowboys, We at least have to have Elliott,Henry or Collins running the football next year.

Why? McFadden has been on a 1400-yard pace in his 10 games as the main back.

How is Dallas getting the 4th and 7th overall pick if they lose to Washington????

Jerry Jones is 73 years old. He's been ego satisfyingly successful in everything that he has stuck his nose into except for one situation, he sucks as a football GM. Until he puts together a super bowl winning team, in such a way that history can do nothing else but acknowledge that HE, without Jimmy Johnson, was responsible, then that's an itch he just has to scratch and can't reach. He is rapidly running out of time so he is going to be all in to win now, not later. He doesn't have time to groom another QB, it's Romo or bust. Romo needs a bulldozer RB to take some of the load off. That's why I can't see the Cowboys drafting a QB or the best defensive player available instead of a stud RB like Henry or Elliot, in the first round.

Or you know he can just sign a proven running back in free agency instead of panicking and wasting a pick like the Chargers did this past draft on Melvin Gordon.

A trade down down for Elliott and going defense the rest of the draft makes a lot of sense.

San Diego's rushing numbers have, at best, been middle of the pack for the last few seasons and have been falling since too where they have the worst rushing numbers for this year. Their problem isn't going to be fixed by drafting a stud running back. Dallas, on the other hand, has built their OL thru high draft choices , over the past few years. It showed when Demarco Murray blew away the league last year and Dallas posted a 12-4 record, after posting previous records of 8-8 or something like that. Murray,a proven free agent running back, trots over to Philly, with expectations of repeating his 2014 numbers, and guess what happened, he sucks. Dallas signs Darren McFadden, who is a proven(?) running back, and he is having one of his best rushing years. What's the difference between Dallas and San Diego? The OL. Picking Henry, my choice, or Elliot would not be a panicked or wasteful pick. Put Henry or Elliot behind that Line and watch out.

Pass of Henry, especially in first (no way where we are slotted). If I had to choose between the two, I take Elliot every time right now.

I respectfully disagree with this philosophy .
When you have an aged fragile QB and ones there you take him
sometimes you have to save
