Last season, when he wasn't injured. And, without anyone solid like Gregory or Parsons. Do you want game recaps?

Recaps? Sure, provide them if you want. Tell me the great play(s) he made last year. Or the year before.

Both years he had significant performances. A quick search provides them. Or do you think he was awful because of the team record? I have no idea what some fans are watching to prop up Armstrong to this degree and to take a dump on Lawrence. It's astounding.

Well, what were these significant performances by Lawrence? I honestly don’t remember any recently. There was maybe a sack-strip fumble maybe last year or this year or the year before.

I never thought Lawrence was all that good to begin with. A little better than average, nothing special.

The team is doing fine without him. Let that sink in. Young players doing what the coaches teach them and obeying their responsibilities and not freelancing and trying to make highlight reels.

Sorry, I can't take this serious. I have no desire to debate things this silly. "A little better than average." Lol.

Stat warrior. Most realize it’s not all about sacks. Pressures are just as important (if not more so because they sometimes result in turnovers) and we’ve been pretty good there. Not the greatest in the league, but pretty good.

Yeah I'm not going to pretend they get an inordinate amount of pressures to go with their mediocre sack total.

They don't.

I've kind of joked about Jerry's praise for him in years past too, but I said a couple months ago that but he looks different and better this year and was becoming a pet cat. Maybe he's just gradually improved to the point that now he's a pretty decent player, who knows. But for one thing, IMO he just looks better standing up than as a 43 DE like he was before.

You wish he were faster, but he is a big, strong dude who plays with some power. He reminds me of the type of 34 OLB Parcells would have liked, or even Belichick today. He's not going to wow you with quickness but he's also not going to get pushed around, either. And he looks like he always plays hard.

Sacks stop the play every time. The down is over. Sometimes they result in a strip sack. Huge momentum swing. Add in QB hits too. They all matter.

D Law Last 5 years. tackles are amongst all D lineman

2021 DNP
2020 T36 in sacks, T13 in tackles
2019 T73 in sacks, 33 in tackles
2018 T17 in sacks, 9 in tackles
2017 T2 in sacks, 15 in tackles

Arguably he was a top 5 DE in 2017, his contract year. 2018 he would be a top 20 DE. 2019 borderline JAG. 2020 decent run stopper at the perimeter. 2021 old and broke down.

What a champ.

I never said they didn’t matter. I said pressures are important as well and that sacks don’t tell the whole story.

Actually we’ve been pretty good when it comes to pressures. Not dominant by any stretch, but pretty good. Don’t forget we’re currently without all 4 starting DL and have been without two of them pretty much all season. I’d say we’ve done OK under those circumstances.

I've always been a big fan of Dorance Armstrong. Good backup and special teams ace...he is worth re-signing and won't be expensive.
If they resign him based on production, he should be dirt cheap.

Lawrence has played outstanding so far on IR. Lol.

And has basically matched the career production of Dorance Armstrong by not playing.

Every GM in the league would laugh you out of their office if you equated these players.

No I'm looking at actual production. Armstrong has been here 4 years and he's done almost nothing up until Sunday where he made a couple of plays. To equate him to Lawrence is laughable.
In all fairness, I have wanted Armstrong to show something over the last fe seasons. I have been pulling for him after reading about his potential, but he has not shown up and I was surprised that was not cut this year. The only highlights from these seasons came last Sunday and I have a feeling that the Atlanta game will be the highlight of his career. There has to be a better backup with some untapped potential out there somewhere.
