No, most players in his situation get released these days and there is no way we are desperate enough at WR to give up any draft pick for another old WR, let alone a second rounder.

Look at his numbers from last year:

2005 Buffalo Bills 15 14 81 816 10.1 55 4 5 1 38

Not any better than Keyshawn who we let go even though we already had him under contract and for a very reasonable salary ($2.5M for 2006).

Now look at his salary:

2006 6089000.00
2007 7250000.00

Whoever wrote this article is either delusional or just plain stupid if he thinks anyone will give up a second rounder for Moulds and his overinflated salary and declining level of production.

I agree. No way would I give up a draft pick for Moulds.

But let's not forget who was throwing Moulds the ball last year.

I'd give them a conditional 5th, but I'd prefer we wait till the Bills inevitably cut him

Hey I can see it now Moulds/TO in scuffle after they argue over who is the better B-Baller. You people seem to forget players like Moulds, Key, and TO do not sign with teams to be 3rd or 4th fiddle. You have 2 options sign them to 1 yeear contracts and have them whining about touches or sign them to a 3 year contract and have to eat the signing bonus in year 2. I am now more willing to take a chance on a 4-5 year guy then moulds, I would be willing to sign Freddie Mitchell or Rod Gardener before moulds.

:hammer:

Why don't you let Key play with JP Losman and see if he can match his numbers in Dallas. TO would have problems in Buffalo.

I was referring to last season.

Edit: nm, thought you were talking about Key.

What does TO have to do with it? The comparison was between Key and Moulds. Don't know how TO got into this one.

As much as I would love to see Moulds reunited with Bledsoe, I doubt it's going to happen for the simple fact that Moulds wants to get paid $$$, and I don't see JJ dishing out #1 receiver money for a guy who wouldn't be #1 receiver here.

Here's another story I found regarding this situation....apparantly the bills are only asking for a 4th rounder in exchange for moulds. The Texans want him, but not under the terms of his current contract.....

Texans try to enable trade for receiver Moulds
Contract needed for swap with Bills; team to sign Kalu for defensive line

By JOHN MCCLAIN
Copyright 2006 Houston Chronicle
LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA. - The Texans are interested in trading for veteran Buffalo Bills receiver Eric Moulds to start opposite Andre Johnson.
Moulds, 32, has been given permission by the Bills to seek a trade because they don't want to pay him the $7.1 million he's due this year. Before the Texans can work out the trade with Buffalo, they have to negotiate a new contract with Moulds, who caught 81 passes for 816 yards and four touchdowns this past season.
"We're exploring an opportunity for Eric to play for the Texans," said Greg Johnson, one of Moulds' representatives. "If all sides can see eye to eye, we'll make it happen.
"But everyone has to see eye to eye."
The Texans, Philadelphia, Denver and New England are among the teams interested in Moulds, a former first-round draft choice who is entering his 11th year. Over his past eight seasons, Moulds has averaged 78 catches and 1,065 yards.
Reports say that if the Bills can't trade Moulds, who has compiled four 1,000-yard seasons, they'll release him, which would make him an unrestricted free agent.
A league official familiar with the negotiations said Sunday night that the Bills are asking for a fourth-round pick.
The Texans don't want to part with their premium picks in the April 29-30 draft. They have four picks in the first three rounds or four of the first 66 selections. The team has been trying to take care of specific needs in free agency so they can draft the best players available.
"There's definite interest on both sides," Johnson said.
Moulds, 6-2 and 210 pounds, has been one of the NFL's better receivers since Buffalo selected him in the first round of the 1996 draft out of Mississippi State.
Moulds finished this past season with a flourish, making 27 catches for 305 yards in his last three games.
Meanwhile, the Texans are expected to sign another free agent today. Philadelphia defensive end N.D. Kalu agreed to a one-year, $750,000 contract during the weekend.
The former star at Rice is a 10-year veteran who spent the past five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kalu, 6-3 and 265 pounds, played in 15 games last season, including eight starts. He had 30 tackles and two sacks.
Kalu follows defensive end Anthony Weaver, fullback Jameel Cook, quarterback Sage Rosenfels, tight end Jeb Putzier, center Mike Flanagan, middle linebacker Sam Cowart and receiver Kevin Walter as free-agent additions.

Comparing Keyshawn and Moulds are like comparing apples and oranges. Key's value wasn't just in pass catching. Key was possibly the best blocker as a wide receiver in the league. Key probably was not the long ball threat Molds was. They are different players.

He is getting old, but one thing some people dont get is....Look who was throwing him the ball.........Duh,...of course there will be less production...

To my untrained eye it looks like Keyshawn has more catches for more yards and more TDs in about the same number of games played over the same number of seasons.

It also looks like their productivity over the past two years is pretty darn similar.

I just don't see the giant difference you are referring to here.

I do know that we had Keyshawn for a cheap price and decided to let him walk because he was unhappy. Why do we want to deal with someone else's headache? We already have one disgruntled WR in TO and another who may be unhappy with his current contract in Glenn. You now want to add a 3rd disgruntled WR over the age of 30?

Again....Look at the team Moulds has played for!!!!!!!!!

I love Key and I would like him back more than I would like Moulds here, but I think Moulds is more talented....

I'm starting to believe that the 'rumors' of Dallas being interested in Moulds a few weeks ago are more than just idle speculation.

If JJ wanted to resign Keyshawn, then clearly he's not content and looking to add more firepower to this offense. Even with TO, Glenn and Crayton....I still feel that WR is a need for this team.

If we don't sign another veteran, then I definitely look for Chad Jackson or Santonio Holmes to being wearing a cowboys uniform next month. However I would love to add Moulds, but for nothing more than a 4th rounder....it's only fair we give them something since we got away with robbery over the whole JP Losman trade.:laugh1:

You add a receiver like Eric Moulds to the Mix and Bledsoe is going to set NFL passing records this season.

**** yes buddy!!!!!:starspin :star: :starspin :star: :starspin :star: :starspin :star: :starspin :star: :starspin :star: :starspin :star: :starspin

We went through this with Peerless Price. Its not going to happen.

Moulds would be a 3rd receiver here. Where in most places he would be at LEAST a 2nd.

Not to mention that he is NOT as good as Keyshawn. I'd much rather us go after Javon Walker in a trade, that would at least get our offense settled for the future.

Henson - Jones - Witten - Walker/Crayton

And what would Javon be with To and Glenn here this year? Dont think so...

I really don't like the idea of another over 30 WR
