Pryor

I want great "football players.... At what price ?

For me, I'll take great athletes over Good/Average football players any day..

just like being a track star does not mean you can play WR in the NFL.

Do you know who was Bullet Bob" Hayes
Yea, I'm pretty sure I know who Bob Hayes happened to be. I also know there have been numerous other attempts of track stars trying to make it in the NFL, and by far most of them have fallen on their collective butts. We had one in the 90's that ended up floundering with the Raiders. Can't recall his name right now, but it will come to me.

That's one. Most track stars don't do well in the NFL. Why - because they don't have the ability to play football.

Speed isn't everything.

Bring him in, any competition is good competition and he's good enough to at least win a backup job.

No, he is not. I doubt he would provide any competition for either Kitna or MgGee during this pre-season. Training camp is halfway over. He couldn't overcome such a late start even if he was a good QB. He isn't, so he has no chance of competing for a QB spot. And then you have to take into account that he won't be able to play or even practice during the first 5 weeks of the season. He has an uphill battle.

Star4Ever you make some valid points here as well as other posters here, however, Pryor is more than a Track Star..he ran Track, Played Basketball, Baseball, Football..

He chose Football and is eligible for NFL SD..

So the bottom line he is more than capable of playing football in the NFL.
We all can agree on that right..

Trust me he is a Football guy..

.

Hayes was a football player at A&M not just a track star. He could play WR when he got here.

This is like the Danzler experiment. Or Stanback. OTOH, Crayton did well. But Crayton was a smart player.

Sure if he can play LG. Pryor is not an NFL QB.

How do you know he couldn't be. People questioned Vick, thought he was just another running QB. But last year showed differently. Doesn't mean he will have a good year this year, we all shall see.

I put Pryor in the Vince Young category right now...either can be a great QB, or can be a big flop. Now it doesn't mean Young still can't turn out to be decent, but I just don't see it.

But I do not think Dallas should use a draft pick on him, unless it's a 6th or 7th. Then yes, take the chance.

i can confirm the cowboys have a representative at the pro day today.

other teams include the Commanders, eagles, bucs, raiders, lions, chargers, steelers and browns.

Says he'll play any position, via Rosenhaus, if that matters to anyone.

Making sure everyone see's that. Good qb prospects don't say that.

Are some of you guys clueless?

Those who think he is a QB, he is not

Those who don't think he is changing positions, he will

Those who think the Cowboys have interest in him and assume it's at QB, it probably isn't.

One interesting caveat to Pryor suspension -- while he can't practice or play, coaches will be allowed to do individual field work with him.

I think it is you who is clueless regarding Pryor's QB ability. He has as good a chance of being a good NFL QB as any of the QBs in this year's draft. Cam Newton, Jake Locker, Christian Ponder, etc. -- which one is clearly better. None.

I don't know if he will be an NFL QB, but how many of the QBs drafted turn into good NFL QBs? Not many. I think Pryor is worth a shot. Why would it hurt to draft him in the 4th or later? I would not have drafted Newton or the rest before the 4th.

But then again, I am apparently not as great a talent evaluator as you. Which team do you work for?

lmao, so cam goes #1 overall...Locker goes top 10..ponder top 15..and every evaluator out there has Pryor as a late rounder, yet he is just as good as those guys..that my friend is being clueless..

Denver took Tebow, the Raiders took Russell, the Titans took Young, Chargers took Leaf, Browns took Quinn, 49ers took Smith, Cardinals took Leinhart, Texans took Carr, Romo undrafted, Brady in the 6th ...

I stand corrected -- those experts are pretty smart.
