Nothing wrong with Ferguson.

It always astounds me that people will harp on a receiver’s production but then not look at the obvious reason…who’s throwing him the ball.

Our receivers numbers were down across the board…that includes CeeDee Lamb.

Why?

Cooper Rush.

This isn’t rocket science.

You could of had Randy Moss running routes in his prime out there and he wouldn’t put up the numbers with Rush at QB.

Depends on how the draft falls. Not a huge fan high up in the draft, but I'm sure with the hits of Bowers, LaPorta(high 2nd) and a few others it's swinging back to take these TE's with some skill higher up

I like the player but its a luxury pick we can't afford. This team is in dire need of a CB to replace Diggs. You can't dumpster dive your way into replacing Diggs.

Any interest in him with our first rounder?

Could be a dynamic playmaking player in the NFL.

I like Ferguson and he’s probably a top 8 TE but he is upgradable imo.

Especially for a guy like this.
I like him a lot.

I also can't use the 12th pick on a TE. No matter how great he looks in college, there are very few TEs that are game changers in the NFL. With that in mind, I can't justify the 12th pick on a TE when we have gaping holes along the DL, need real talent at the S position, have nothing besides a competent back tailback in the running back room.

I guess if the board is wiped, sure.

But to me, you also have to weigh overall improvement. In other words, Warren likely is an upgrade on Ferguson. But Ferguson is a good TE so the gap (or level of improvement) is not as great as say going from Mazi Smith to a great DT. So to me, if there is a big time DL prospect there and Warren, I am going DL because they level of improvement over what we have will have a bigger impact on the team than going from Ferguson to Warren.

Fergie was awful this year. Drops galore and mental mistakes. He regressed in a big big way. Thought he would further elevate his game this year, but it was a huge step back.

To the “too many needs” folks, I have a question -

Would you rather draft a good prospect at a position of need, or an elite prospect at a position that may not be a glaring need?

Should teams use the draft to acquire talent, or merely to plug existing holes?

Elite, always elite.

As a running back.
Didn’t they want him to be a TE and he balked? Then went to the Raiders and became an outstanding TE. Don’t remember why he balked; maybe he didn’t like his chances since the team already had Cosby & Dupree.

Always elite. But if there is one than 1 elite available when you’re on the clock, you go the one of greater need.
