Jared Goff took the Rams to the Super Bowl early in his career. The Rams dumped him anyway shortly after that.

Carson Wentz was an MVP candidate the year the Eagles won the Super Bowl, and has a Super Bowl ring. But he was replaced by Nick Foles during the season when he got injured, and not long afterward, the Eagles spent a 2nd round pick on Jalen Hurts. Carson was unceremoniously dumped on the Colts soon afterward.

Alex Smith was taking the Chiefs to the playoffs, but Andy Reid still moved up in the draft to pick Patrick Mahomes.

Drew Bledsoe had just become the highest paid QB in the NFL, but Belichick elevated Tom Brady over him. Like Wentz, Bledsoe has a Super Bowl ring, but not as the starting QB.

Dan Majkowski (the Magic Man) was a more than serviceable starter for the Packers, but they traded for Brett Favre, and when Majkowski went down in game 3, Favre never relinquished the starting role until after he set the record for most consecutive games. Then, the Packers dumped the #1 QB in NFL history for Aaron Rodgers. Then the Packers repeated the process, dumping Aaron Rodgers for Jordan Love.

Tom Landry and the Cowboys spent the 5th overall in 1965 for QB Craig Morton. Like Goff, he started a Super Bowl his team lost. Less than a year later, the Cowboys sent him to the bench in favor of Roger Staubach. Morton later started another Super Bowl against the Cowboys - and lost to his former team.

DFW native Tommy Kramer had a breakout season for the Steelers as their starting QB in 2003. That didn’t stop the Steelers from spending a top 15 pick on Ben Roethlisberger in 2004, where he promptly went undefeated as a starter for 15 games as a rookie, while Kramer looked on from the sidelines.

Robert Griffin III was rookie of the year in 2012, beating out Andrew Luck for the honor. A couple of seasons later, Kirk Cousins was the starter, and RGIII never again played as well as he did n his rookie year.

I’m not saying Dak is a bad QB. I think he’s a very, very good QB. But it’s not unprecedented to move on from a good QB - even a Super Bowl QB. Morton, Bledsoe and Goff were all Super Bowl starters quickly dumped by their teams when something better came along. Both Favre and Rodgers won Super Bowls, but their teams weren’t afraid to move on.

Just saying…

You don’t have to hate Dak, or think he’s an awful QB yo come to a decision that he’s had enough chances in Dallas. If Atlanta is willing to give up the 8th pick, plus a couple of other high picks, and Dak would like to help Belichick surpass Don Shula’s win total, I make that trade, and start over at QB. The Cowboys can let Trey Lance battle it out with another top 10 draft pick for the right to be the next Dallas QB.

i think every one should saw it when garrett was here FOREVER

jerry is ok with being a loser so he wont move off dak or mccarthy…two dumb people who do dumb stuff because they are both dumb and so is jerry and stephen so none of them can see how dumb the other are

jerry is only ok with crap so if they do ever fluke a super bowl he will get all the credit unlike when jimmy carry him and every one knowed who the brain was

So you expect the Cowboys with the 24th pick in the first round to trade up into the top 10 draft picks to get a QB to compete with Trey Lance?

Not sure the Falcons would want to give up the 8th pick. Granted, if they do somehow land Belichick, at this point in his career, he may not want to have to hand hold a young QB for a couple of seasons, he may want to try to win now. So in that sense, maybe a guy like Dak might interest in him.

Frankly, if they gave me their 2nd round pick this year, a 1s5 or 2nd next year and maybe a 3rd/4th this year, I'd dump him in a heartbeat. To me, his value isn't in trying to get high picks. His value is getting him off the books and giving Lance a chance so we can figure out where to go with the QB position in the next two offeasons.

Dak isn’t the problem. Jerry is. Then it will be Stevie. If they cut Dak this team will win 6 games next year. Probably 4/5 the next. They will be able to draft a good QB then. Add a good young coach. Ratchet up hope again to what? Divisional Round failure. Sadly that’s the bar here folks. The Jones taint is strong.

The problem is Jerry is now more fearful of making a mistake than taking a risk that might result in success. He can’t stand the thought that Dak might take another team to a Super Bowl.

Atlanta with Belichick would be a good spot for Dak. They have a good running back & Belichick would see that they’re well schemed. Hell, he won a game just 2 years ago running something like 52 out of 55 plays.

Dak has a no trade clause. They would have to sign him to a new contract that doesn't have the clause and trade him than.
Your not getting a high first for Dak.

If we release or trade Dak either Lance or a FA QB will be our starting QB. Are you ok with that? And would that constitute an upgrade at the position? Not saying it is or isn’t just asking as I don’t really know what the solution is right now.

you are not going to get a very high pick for dak everyone knows who he is
I get why people say this but if Carson Wentz, who got traded from Philly AFTER GETTING BENCHED can result in a nice haul of picks from Indy and Russell Wilson can get what is a nice windfall for Seattle, Dak likely has more value than people want to believe. Shoot, after Wentz bombed out in Indy, they then flipped him for a 2nd and 3rd from Washington, I believe. Dak will have value.

Granted, he's not going to get you some massive, franchise changing windfall like we did back in the day with Herschel Walker.

Oh, Dak is a big part of the problem. Tape don’t lie.
