The difference is the team was a dumpster fire and in full rebuild from the gutter up.

This team has three 12 win seasons. Outside of the Zone, I don’t think Cowboy fandom is ready to tear it down and go to a 3-5 win team next year which is what we get without Parsons and Dak and Trey Lance as our QB, which seems to be gaining traction on this board for some reason.
Just fans blowing off steam. A week from now Cowboys fans here, and everywhere, will fully support MM and be happy Dak is the Cowboys’ quarterback.

All I am really saying is that the Cowboys have sufficient resources to get into the top level of this year's draft. Pick 24, Pick 56, Pick 88, plus premium picks they could acquire by trading Prescott, Lance and/or Parsons. If they really want to move up to get one of the top 2 QB's in this draft, they have the ability to do it.

People are tired of losing every big game and early in the playoffs.

It’s time to shake it up. If that means a few down seasons, so be it.

Trotting out three 12 win seasons as a reason to stay the course is the kind of logic Jerry employs and it’s done wonders for us.

Yes.....the emotional roller coaster ride from this latest collapse is slowly wearing away and I am rethinking my delusional "roll with Trey Lance " take..... However, Dak eating up 60 mil in cap space this year spells disaster for this team in 2024.

yea the problem is no matter what he say i do not think jerry want to win a super bowl (with a good smart coach like jimmy)

i think every one should saw it when garrett was here FOREVER

jerry is ok with being a loser so he wont move off dak or mccarthy…two dumb people who do dumb stuff because they are both dumb and so is jerry and stephen so none of them can see how dumb the other are

jerry is only ok with crap so if they do ever fluke a super bowl he will get all the credit unlike when jimmy carry him and every one knowed who the brain was
love reading this, you Hit the Nail on the head with this

Personally, I don’t have an issue with a rebuild. I’ll root for the team either way, but I think it’s a bit of a Zone echo chamber that we think this little pocket of hardcore fans posting every day are representative of the broader fandom.

Here me out…

Dak isn’t the problem. Jerry is. Then it will be Stevie. If they cut Dak this team will win 6 games next year. Probably 4/5 the next. They will be able to draft a good QB then. Add a good young coach. Ratchet up hope again to what? Divisional Round failure. Sadly that’s the bar here folks. The Jones taint is strong.
Dak was out for an extended amount of time a year of ago and the team went 4-1. Your comments are not based on facts.

You must not have watched those games. Rush played well for the first couple and was progressively worse each week. The defense balled out. Go back and refresh your failing memory.

Jared Goff took the Rams to the Super Bowl early in his career. The Rams dumped him anyway shortly after that.

Carson Wentz was an MVP candidate the year the Eagles won the Super Bowl, and has a Super Bowl ring. But he was replaced by Nick Foles during the season when he got injured, and not long afterward, the Eagles spent a 2nd round pick on Jalen Hurts. Carson was unceremoniously dumped on the Colts soon afterward.

Alex Smith was taking the Chiefs to the playoffs, but Andy Reid still moved up in the draft to pick Patrick Mahomes.

Drew Bledsoe had just become the highest paid QB in the NFL, but Belichick elevated Tom Brady over him. Like Wentz, Bledsoe has a Super Bowl ring, but not as the starting QB.

Dan Majkowski (the Magic Man) was a more than serviceable starter for the Packers, but they traded for Brett Favre, and when Majkowski went down in game 3, Favre never relinquished the starting role until after he set the record for most consecutive games. Then, the Packers dumped the #1 QB in NFL history for Aaron Rodgers. Then the Packers repeated the process, dumping Aaron Rodgers for Jordan Love.

Tom Landry and the Cowboys spent the 5th overall in 1965 for QB Craig Morton. Like Goff, he started a Super Bowl his team lost. Less than a year later, the Cowboys sent him to the bench in favor of Roger Staubach. Morton later started another Super Bowl against the Cowboys - and lost to his former team.

DFW native Tommy Kramer had a breakout season for the Steelers as their starting QB in 2003. That didn’t stop the Steelers from spending a top 15 pick on Ben Roethlisberger in 2004, where he promptly went undefeated as a starter for 15 games as a rookie, while Kramer looked on from the sidelines.

Robert Griffin III was rookie of the year in 2012, beating out Andrew Luck for the honor. A couple of seasons later, Kirk Cousins was the starter, and RGIII never again played as well as he did n his rookie year.

I’m not saying Dak is a bad QB. I think he’s a very, very good QB. But it’s not unprecedented to move on from a good QB - even a Super Bowl QB. Morton, Bledsoe and Goff were all Super Bowl starters quickly dumped by their teams when something better came along. Both Favre and Rodgers won Super Bowls, but their teams weren’t afraid to move on.

Just saying…

You don’t have to hate Dak, or think he’s an awful QB yo come to a decision that he’s had enough chances in Dallas. If Atlanta is willing to give up the 8th pick, plus a couple of other high picks, and Dak would like to help Belichick surpass Don Shula’s win total, I make that trade, and start over at QB. The Cowboys can let Trey Lance battle it out with another top 10 draft pick for the right to be the next Dallas QB.
I like you style.............

The broader fandom are suckers and Jerry counts on them to lap up whatever he does.

It’s not about being a sucker. It’s about supporting your hometown team regardless of what happens. It’s also acknowledging the reality that we have zero influence over Jerry and his decisions.

It’s not approval. It’s not disapproval either. It’s about accepting reality, and still supporting the team just because you’ve decided to be a Cowboys fan anyway. It’s similar to how Chicago Cubs fans remained fans even when the team failed to win a championship for 107 years between 1908 and 2016.

Calling people out for remaining fans isn’t useful for anyone. Don’t take your frustrations out on others.
