Bingo…..not drinking the kool aid does not a Dallas hater or troll make. Dak is simply not a top tier QB and will not get us by the best teams. Not going to happen. Teleporting Dak to a better team ala Stafford would actually doom them to defeat. We have a great D and a very good offense. But the $140 million man is not taking us to the promised land. Not going to happen.

I agree on not drinking the cool aid. I'm not the biggest Dak fan. I was on the let him walk crowd. But worse QBs have made the SB. Look at the 49ers now. I think they have a shot at the SB with that 7th round pick. I think Jalen Hurts sucks. But he has an unstoppable run game.

But I will admit, Dak has not impressed me this year at all.

Cowboys fan over 50 years. Why would I claim refs are biased against them? First clue genius.
Fair enough. Continue to look at the rest of the world as stupid. Continue to do nothing but try and tear down this teams players and accomplishments. Continue to play whatever role on these forums you are trying to live out.

You're positioning yourself to be able to boast as long as this team has one screw up late in the year. Only one team can make it through flawlessly in the playoffs and as long as that isnt the Cowboys you get all offseason to gloat. The constant negativity is the easy route as it is the most likely one for every team in the league.

Not sure if these are your honest thoughts, or if you're just trying to get people riled up, but you do you. I honestly hope whatever path your on you can find joy in, and be able to celebrate as that is one of the greatest rewards sports can offer.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

I happen to be a PhD clinical psychologist and really need no insights on what is good medicine. But thanks for the feeble gesture.

And no need to boast about anything. I am just being realistic with what I see with my eyes. If you think Dak is a Super Bowl caliber qb, then don't let me rain kool aid on on your parade.

Jalen Hurts is infinitely better than Dak. He will win a Super Bowl. Dak will not. Unfortunately. The decision to sign Dak to that ungodly number was our death knell.

And you are putting words in my mouth. Nowhere did I say the world is stupid. But being blindly optimistic when there are obvious issues here is going to lead to your severe depression when they fall. I am being realistic and will be vindicated.

So, when Dallas beats the Vikings 40-3, they're great. When they struggle to beat the Texans, they're horrible.

Do I have that right?

The truth is somewhere in between, for one. No team in the NFL is so bad as to have a 40-3 loss be the norm for their games.
For instance, the Texans lost to the Chargers and Titans by 10 pts each, and the Eagles by 12. Those are all good to very good teams. If the Texans were so horrible a team, they would have gotten blown out in those games. But they didn't.

So, the Texans are not as bad as their record indicates. They aren't good enough to win games, but they are certainly good enough to be competitive.
Add to that the high probability that Dallas was looking past them to the Eagles game on Christmas Eve, it's hard to get up to play a 1-10-1 team, and that Dallas is missing two starting corners, it's not too surprising they had a tough game.

But here's the thing: Some say that Dallas can't play that way because they won't play 1-10-1 teams in the playoffs. Well, duh! But IF the Cowboys are "playing down to the level of their competition", then no problem, because Dallas WON'T be playing 1-10-1 teams, can't play down to the level of your competition if you're completion is at the same level as you are, or maybe higher.

In 1993, Dallas lost to a 6-10 Falcons team by 13 pts, and beat Phoenix by 5 pts, who at the time were 3-7. Any team can have a bad game.

Now am I saying Dallas is a great SB contender? No, not at all. They give up too many rushing yards, Dak has always made too many bad throws, will still be missing two corners, now will be missing Steele on the line (and don't have a decent backup, Josh Ball who's an utter failure and an old, fat, out of shape and now out of position Peters, if they put him at RT). Lamb still drops passes and Gallup is still rounding into shape. Cowboys also will be a wild card team, as well as having to play their last 2 games on the road back-to-back. So come playoff time they'll be tired.

I'm not saying my Cowboys can't win it all, but I'm neither saying they will. A lot depends on the health of the otehr teams, matchups as usual and Moore's scattershot play calling. I'm just going to watch and what happens, happens...

we were slashed in the run game? lol outside of 1 run for 24 yards Cowboys held Pierce to 2.5 a carry and even with the 1 run for 24 he only got 3.5 a carry.
I consider the screen game, bubble screens, etc. as part of the run game. Philly destroyed us with this.

So, you're just going to personally change plays from passes to runs in order to
justify your silly agenda... lol.

Short of other teams losing all thier top players, Dallas does not stand a chance. Super Bowl possible? Yes. Probable. NO.

Screens are technically pass plays but really run plays from scrimmage. We have been killed by them. And our linebackers are deficient in defending them.

Which is what I said, in complete agreement with you in that regard.

But Philly can ill afford to lose Hurts, Buffalo, Allen, etc. Cowboys will only have to play at most 4 times including the SB, if one of the favorites gets upset and one of the others lose their quarterback, could still happen. Depends on the matchup.

Though I'm not expecting or certainly not predicting it...

Jalen Hurts is the same QB from 2021. Just like Tua, the team around him exploded. But both aren't good passers without an ideal situation around them. You put Dak on the 49ers and they have a very good chance at winning the SB.

No, the blocking is different. The reads are different.
A bubble screen is out on the perimeter to WRs covered by DBs, not LBs.

pyr·rhic
[ˈpirik]
ADJECTIVE
  1. (of a victory) won at too great a cost to have been worthwhile for the victor:
"the best they can hope for is a pyrrhic victory" · "there is concern that this legal victory for the record labels may prove pyrrhic"
That's the first time in my entire life I have come across this word. So, thank you. Yes, I'm college educated.

It is from an ancient king named Pyrrhus who fought and defeated the Romans in a battle. However, his losses were so great that it irreversibly weakened his kingdom… while Rome was just fine.

I can’t remember the name of his kingdom but it was somewhere over there in the Mediterranean area.

If it involved Greek Mythology, then I've probably read or heard it as I had that class at UT. lol. I probably just forgot it. Don't recall much of that class...other than it was so much detail that you forget it after you no longer need it in the memory banks.
