Pyrrhic Victory

If it involved Greek Mythology, then I've probably read or heard it as I had that class at UT. lol. I probably just forgot it. Don't recall much of that class...other than it was so much detail that you forget it after you no longer need it in the memory banks.
Yeah, it isn’t mythology. It’s actual history.

I’m just a bit of a history buff, especially the Roman Republic/Empire… so I’ve read about Pyrrhus a few times.

I agree on not drinking the cool aid. I'm not the biggest Dak fan. I was on the let him walk crowd. But worse QBs have made the SB. Look at the 49ers now. I think they have a shot at the SB with that 7th round pick. I think Jalen Hurts sucks. But he has an unstoppable run game.

But I will admit, Dak has not impressed me this year at all.

Very good post. If Mark Rypien and Joe Flacco (even Eli) can win Super Bowls, so can Dak as could Tony.

As far as Dak this year - he leads the league in INT's since he's been back and that should concern everyone.

I happen to be a PhD clinical psychologist and really need no insights on what is good medicine. But thanks for the feeble gesture.
Wow, I can see you doing more harm than good in your profession.

"Hey Jim, how do like your psychologist?"

"Oh, he's great. He's teaching me to be a complete jackass!"

He joined at the beginning of this season, thinks Philly is going to win the super bowl, and says pretty much everything in Dallas is terrible.

Why do you think he might be being a jackass?

Oh, I didn't say he was. That would be against the rules. The way he posts constant negative comments about the team and tries to convince people that certain players are "horrible", while saying they should be replaced with someone who can't even see playing time, makes me think his clients might not be getting the treatment that's best for them.

He seems to need a therapist himself.

LVE finally made a few plays but just serves to prove my point he usually sucks and horribly inconsistent. He was terrible on many plays yesterday and wrong gap and wrong direction. We should have lost this game the way we were slashed in the run game. Many on here were going crazy about him finally showing up to a game and talking about extension. This is ludicrous.
Guy is on a 1 year $2M contract. He could be 3rd string and earn that contract

Some people find it just to god dam difficult to understand appreciating a win....and having some concerns about it.

Oh BOY! We went to toe toe with a team...and scored on the final drive. HURRAY!@ WOOPIE!

1-10 loser texans.

When Romo went toe to toe with Peyton Manning at Denver....and the defense kept giving up points time and time again...you guys CRUCIFIED him as a complete imbecile choker.

But this....well where's our super bowl parade.

Shallow weapons grade stupidity on display.

Oh, so Dak’s deplorable play was due to an injury???? Give me a break. He looked abysmal against the worst team in the nfl with a 20 point spread.

A Pyrrhic Victory basically means you won but you also lost so much that it wasn't worth the victory. If you would have talked about the injuries we came out of the game with, I would have agreed with you.

But items you listed have nothing to do with a pyrrhic victory. Its just ranting and not particularly good rants either. But hey to each their own.

It is from an ancient king named Pyrrhus who fought and defeated the Romans in a battle. However, his losses were so great that it irreversibly weakened his kingdom… while Rome was just fine.

I can’t remember the name of his kingdom but it was somewhere over there in the Mediterranean area.
It was after the Battle of Asculum. Pyrrhus was Greek. One of the great generals of his time.

That’s it. I couldn’t remember the name of the battle. I thought he was Greek but wasn’t sure.

Thanks man.

The history of the Mediterranean during those times is just fascinating.

You would think, maybe???

yeah i guess 35 years of compensated work explains how terrible it was. LMAO

I thought calling others members names and particularly a jack sass was worthy of benching? I guess not.

Gluestick will be gone next year. Nuff said.
