No choice but to sign Dak, or maybe trade him if Jerry has the guts.
Let's look at the QB landscape around the league. If you thought this past year had a lot of change.. what do you think will happen next year?

These are the team that I know will have a new QB next year.
AFC East:
Dolphins-yes
Pats- Who knows..
AFC North:
Bengals-yes
Steelers- Will Big Ben recover?
AFC South:
Titans-yes
Jags- Minshew, Foles is a goner
AFC West
Broncos-Yes
Raiders-Yes
Chargers-Maybe

NFC East:
Commanders-yes
NFC North:
Bears-yes
NFC South
Panthers-yes
Bucs- Yes
NO- Maybe Brees retires after winning SB

NFC West:
Niners- Niners can ditch Jimmy with very little cap hit if they want.

Some of those teams probably have the 2020 starter on the team.

1. Steelers will probably have Rudolph as the starter, depending on Ben, and may continue to draft competition.

2. Broncos have Drew Lock who is on IR. He's not set by any means, but I can't see Elway being that impatient with him. Probably will give him a year, or maybe some games this year if he can return.

3. Commanders have Haskins. Snyder will give him 2 years at least.

4. Panthers have Kyle Allen and Cam. No real change if they stick with either one.

5. NO has Bridgewater.

6. Jimmy G isn't playing great, but is doing good enough for that team right now. Not putting the team on their shoulders but isn't blowing games either.

When you have a QB that's done the job why move on? That said the cowboys will not be in position to throw a high draft pick at QB anyhow especially with the needs they have on the defensive side of the ball. This team is far from being just a QB away from the Lombardi meaning Dak isn't the issue here despite what you may hear from our biggest Dak fans on this site like Pappy and Willie B and a few others

If they re-sign Garrett they might as well let Dak go. Jerry can spin it as another new era coming. Sell some new merchandise. Make a bunch of new empty promises. It could be a revenue boom. Wash, rinse, repeat...

Jimmy G is bargain with his contract. Niners are not going to get rid of him. Foles just signed so don’t know what the cap hit would be if he is let go so I don’t think the Jags cut him. Commanders owner lives Haskins so I think the new coaching staff ( Lincoln Riley?) maybe stuck with him.

You better keep that Chunky Soup warm for DAK and sign him.

If Tom Brady leaves NE, Bill Belichick will jump on Dak Prescott so fast it will scare you. I am still wondering why he had Jason Garrett over for dinner and outing during the off season?

With New England's line that protects Brady, who is a potted plant, AND averages 1 holding call a game, Dakota and 70% of Qb's would excel. Our current line is obviously not offering that hermetically sealed pocket young Rayne enjoyed as a rookie

5. NO has Bridgewater.

Bridgewater will be a free agent. Everything hinges on Drew Brees. Will he retire? Does he have a couple of years left after this season? Is Bridgewater willing to wait to take over or will he dip his toes in the free agent market?

I hear ya. But he stayed with N.O. even with places offering him better offers to start.
Miami reached out to him, but he declined to stick around in Orleans.
Probably got a handshake promise on sticking around this year, for 2020 but that's jmo.

If Brees stays, then for 2020 they are set. If not, I think Payton would just re-sign Teddy.

LOL more people settling for mediocrity here.

If Alex Smith was younger, I guess the Chiefs would have stuck with him instead of getting Mahomes. Because you know....Alex Smith wasn't bad. Just good. Not great. Good. And who wants anything more than that, right? Why jump on the chance of getting a franchise changing QB?

Good points. Bridgewater will go into this off season with a bit more on his side than last year. He only had a handful of pass attempts since his major injury last year. Now he has a few solid games to demonstrate to other teams about what he could possibly do. I think he will get better offers this off season than he did last year. Maybe one of those will be enough for him to leave the Saints. I think Drew has another year left in him unless they win a SB this year.

He will not sit behind Brees again after this season. I'm guessing at least three teams will offer him a chance to start.....( Bucs, Titans, Broncos)

For sure. He stuck with the better team/coaching, over Miami, and got his big break in Brees getting injured.

Saints will definitely have to pony up to keep him for 2020, especially with a handful of teams looking for competent QBing, let alone great QB play.

Curious to watch Brees into the playoffs this year. Last year he seemed physically beat. Floating more passes it seemed. IF he looks "old" this time again they should just ask him to retire.

I did like that mock draft where they landed Fromm. Think he would be ideal for Payton. Probably could start right away and may not have a super high ceiling but could be a very good system QB.
