Very early still
Some of you don't get too worked up over this. Just data.

These combined stats will usually "roughly" tell you who is playing best overall so far (not who is best, but who is playing the best so far)

Combine and average the QBs' rank of the following two categories and tally.
  1. Differential: Total TDs (Passing/Rushing TDs ) - Total Turnovers ....This reduces bus-driving a little bit
  2. Standard NFL Passer Rating
This is where we stand after 7weeks
  1. Allen
  2. Jackson
  3. Burrow
  4. Mayfield
  5. Goff
  6. Daniels
  7. Darnold
  8. Murray
  9. Flacco
  10. Fields
  11. Carr
  12. Love
  13. Stroud
  14. Lawrence
  15. Herbert
  16. Hurts
  17. Maye
  18. Williams
  19. Purdy
  20. Cousins
  21. Rodgers
  22. G Smith
  23. Prescott
  24. Nix
  25. Mahomes
  26. D Jones
  27. Stafford
  28. Dalton
  29. Brissett
  30. Thompson
  31. Tua
  32. Huntley
  33. Richardson
  34. Levis

Some notes

Mahomes is almost always at or near the top of this list and he'll rise way as the year goes on. But this is surprising.
Of course with him....we know he has another level in the playoffs
But the Chiefs run game and defense are rolling, while he dots the "I" when needed.

Purdy, Cousins and Dak usually a bit higher too....fwiw

Allen still has no ints this year.

Lamar is playing his tail off

Allen has no turnovers at all this year which after seven games is astounding. If he can keep this up through the playoffs he might have finally taken that step to elite.
Mahomes by the stats is not playing well. Though he still is making plays when it matters; but the fact is against the best teams that is not going to be enough

Allen with no picks is maybe the most shocking story in a season full of shocking stories lol. very impressive. dak..... yuck. just yuck.

Like I said.....some here will freak out.
 Take a bow!

Stats like these usually balance out later in the season.

Players finishing in top 3 in this combined stat has won MVP 22 straight seasons

It's not saying who is the best, just saying who has been playing well so far, relatively speaking.

1/2 of the equation is Total TDs-Total Turnovers

Top 5 (really top 4, then gap)
  1. Allen +13
  2. Mayfield +13
  3. Jackson +12
  4. Burrow + 12
  5. Daniels +8

Maybe this guy will help.......

Sidenote....his father once played for the Dallas Cowboys

So Mahomes is lower than Prescott. It just shows you what a team can do behind you.

top 3, yeah...but some don't belong and end up there...I think looking at the whole season tends to average things out.
