So Weeden. leads the Texans to win today after only a few weeks in the system but neither him nor cassel can help our team to win at all?? Does that make our problem bad backup quarterbacks or bad system??

A major indictment of the Cowboys coaching IMHO.

This!!!!!! We are sorely lacking in the coaching department. Another thing about the Houston coaches, I listen to Houston radio station a lot as I only live 90 miles from the town and listen to the talk shows on AM radio. I hear a lot of sports reports where O'Brien will say it is his fault after a loss. He is not as bad as Wade about it but he recognizes his weaknesses. It is refreshing to see a coach do that. Garrett NEVER admits he did anything wrong.

Garrett is above reproach so Im sure he doesnt feel the need to accept blame. Besides, its all part of the process and watching the tape to see what needs to get cleaned up.

Its not the system, its the dumb *** playcalling.you got to make it easy for the backups and get creative and give them open Wrs to hit,we run the same lame routes no matter who the QB.

I knew a silly thread like this was coming soon. The texans won 16-10 against the Matt Hasselbeck led Colts. That is more of the Texans defense and bad offense by the Colts than anything Weeden did. I knew this topic was going to happen as soon as Weeden won a game. And please get out of here trying to stand up for Weeden now. All I saw on this board when Weeden was a Cowboy was how he sucked and how quickly you want Cassel to start and wanted Weeden to be cut. Now it's an indictment on our coaching staff? Please. Weeden still stinks his defense help him out just enough today. You people are unbelievable.

And for some reason our WR's are never as open as the WR's on 31 other teams are. We need to get that cleaned up.

Hindsight has proven that Weeden was pulled too early. He was clearly the more talented option at this point in their respective careers -- compared to Matt Cassel that is. Plus Weeden never had the benefit of playing with Dez Bryant.

Can you imaging those most beautiful passes Jerry has ever seen sailing thru the air to Dez?

I agree but it has very little with Weeden being unproductive for us. He's been unproductive every where he's been. So a win today against a mediocre Colts team changes that? Please.

100% correct. I put it all on coaching .. when starters go down the coaches should help replacements be ready .. Before that .. coaches need to EVALUATE and plan for replacements ..

Big Garret fan .. but doesn't I let him escape failures .. This season is on him ..

I saw the game and when Weedon came in all he was asked to do was handoff to the rbs and make a few passes. The defense made plays against Hasselbeck to close out the game and the Colts had under 200 yards of offense on the day. The Texans defense won that game.

P.S. I'm saying this while holding the opinion that Garrett is not an NFL coach.

I agree it looks bad for the coaching staff, who I won't defend at all, but...

Weeden was 11/18 for 105 yards and a touchdown. His team scored 16 points. He didn't light the world on fire.

The Texans defense won that game. Lets not get carried away.

Weeden did not play the entire game. Even if you just simply say "his" team scored 16 points, keep in mind that in 3 losses to the Bucs, Seahawks, and Jets the Cowboys only allowed an average of 14 points per game. So I would think a QB who could put up 16 points without throwing the ball to the other team 3 times like Moore/Cassel would have gotten the job done.
