It's true that QBs are the players that affect the outcome of a game the most, but that doesn't exactly mean the W/L column reflects the play of the QB. A W/L is a representation of how the TEAM has performed. I'm so tired of reading comments/threads blaming our loses/failures on Romo when there are plenty of other areas this team is lacking in, QB is the least of our problems. The W/L column is more reflective of the teams play, then it is of the QBs play.

Here's a list of unknown QBs with their teams W/L posted along with their individual statistics.

QB1
71.8 CMP% / 37.6 AttG / 8.1 AVG / 304.6 YdsG / 13 TD / 2 INT / 114.3 RTG
W/L =

QB2
58.4 CMP% / 37 AttG / 6.5 AVG / 240.4 YdsG / 7 TD / 3 INT / 83.7 RTG
W/L =

QB3
56.5 CMP% / 39.2 AttG / 6.2 AVG / 242.2 YdsG / 7 TD / 3 INT / 80.5 RTG
W/L =

QB4
62.2 CMP% / 31.2 AttG / 7.3 AVG / 228.8 YdsG / 7 TD / 2 INT / 94.1 RTG
W/L =

QB5
58.3 CMP% / 25.4 AttG / 7.9 AVG / 199.4 YdsG / 8 TD / 4 INT / 91.2 RTG
W/L =

QB6
66.5 CMP% / 43.25 AttG / 7.69 AVG / 332.5 YdsG / 8 TD / 3 INT / 97.7 RTG
W/L =

QB7
73.9 CMP% / 35.5 AttG / 8.4 AVG / 299.8 YdsG / 11 TD / 2 INT / 118.8 RTG
W/L =

QB8
57.7 CMP% / 40.2 AttG / 6.8 AVG / 272 YdsG / 5 TD / 8 INT / 70.1 RTG
W/L =

QB9
58.9 CMP% / 36 AttG / 6.6 AVG / 237 YdsG / 5 TD / 9 INT / 67 RTG
W/L =

Now here's a list showing who the QBs are and their team's records.

Tony Romo/QB1
W/L = 2/3

Alex Smith/QB2
W/L 5/0

Tom Brady/QB3
W/L = 4/1

Andrew Luck/QB4
W/L = 4/1

Russel Wilson/QB5
W/L = 4/1

Matt Ryan/QB6
W/L = 1/3

Philip Rivers/QB7
W/L = 2/2

Joe Flacco/QB8
W/L = 3/2

Carson Palmer/QB9
W/L = 3/2

This.

All, stop defending Romo and accept him for what he is. A talented QB, but one who wilts in big moments and will never consistently win the big games.

I think its you critics of Romo that need to accept him and it for what it is.

If Manning and Romo switched teams today would that have helped dallas win? Would Manning have the mobility to escape the pressure like Romo did and make those plays? What QB would you have been able to replace Romo with today and caused us to win that game?

Manning has a superior offensive line with the Broncos. Ours may be improving but its not at the level the Broncos is. Manning can drop back comfortably and not look for the guy to come free and horsecollar.....I mean sack him...

I feel better about my QB right now than I did when I woke up this morning. He carried this team to 48 points.Criticizing him after throwing for 500 yards and 5 touchdowns only shows that you either have no clue about football or you have a anti Romo agenda...

Like the poster said...Its a team game. Our team lost today. If you want to point fingers and blame someone how about using a little bit more of your brain this go round and blame someone associated with giving up 51 points?

Coaching and QB play is the difference in the modern NFL. We might have one, we definetely dont have the other.

Bingo! I will add this to it. I have heard many people, including former players and former coaches, say that to build a championship caliber team and hto have sustained success..you need to start with the GM, Head Coach and QB.

Now..go rank every GM, head coach and QB from 1 to 32 for each category. The lowest, obviously the best.
And then add up the figures for each team. A team like New England probably has a total score of about "15".
Dallas is higher than that (worse off) just because of where the GM ranks.

Please. If we had won today, it would have been all about Romo.

QB's may rarely WIN the game....but they can lose one, thats for sure.

A defense also wilts in big moments... They had 2 opportunities with the lead late today to make stops and choked both times.. KC they couldn't get off the field with 2 minutes left & SD 23-21 couldn't keep it a 1 score game

I disagree if there is one thing we are all learning its almost always comes down to the QB. More than ever. Just look at Denver. They are basically the same team that was .500 for past several years. Then Peyton comes to town and they are a juggernaut. Tom Brady seems to play with bad RB, WR, average OL, sometimes bad defense and all that team does is win (for most part). Intelligence and leadership cover up alot of a team faults.

This is true. He played an outstanding game up until the choke. He was about to get tons of props here from EVERYONE.

He's still getting props from me. He outplayed Peyton. Tony was a stud this game. Our defense blows. Someone take Kiffin to the geriatric ward.

Yeah, sad too. Romo reminds me of this guy I saw on an NFL Film's presentation one time. This running back (I think) from the old days played one hell of a game between the 20s but would always make a crucial mistake when he was almost about to score a touchdown, either a fumble or just tripping over his own feet sometimes. It's like Romo's mistakes at crucial times overshadow what a very good player he is otherwise.

Tony will find himself in this situation again. This defense can't keep a turtle from the endzone. Would not surprise me to find Romo with 2 minutes left on the clock next week, needing a FG to win. Prime Time TV. No pressure.

Sorry, but I completely disagree. Yes, Manning would have won the game in a Dallas uniform. Manning does not need mobility because the ball is out in 2 seconds to the right receiver, just about every time. And point of fact, Dallas' O-line played great and right now is superior to Denver's (who are without their Pro-Bowl LT). The pressure Romo got was largely self-imposed. On many of the plays where he escaped pressure, he held the ball too long and didn't throw it away. But again, Romo played a great game. But in the end, he did not do what the truly great QBs (like Manning) do... they protect the ball, make good decisions when the pressure is on, anddrive the team down the field for the win.

Except when they don't. I don't get this fantasy people have that there are QBs out there who always magically win the game in the end. Brady threw a final-drive interception deep in Cincy territory yesterday to end the Pats' hopes. Peyton has thrown final-drive interceptions in the playoffs and Super Bowl to lose games. Rodgers threw two late interceptions and failed to convert on a final drive in their loss just last week.

Meanwhile, Tony led the Cowboys on 5 4th quarter or OT game-winning drives just last season.

You do realize that Romo outplayed Manning right?
Manning also threw a interception.

So now in spite of our line being truly horrible last year and finally showing some life in recent weeks, they are suddenly better than the broncos line who have been protecting Manning very nicely for 2 years straight? Sounds like you want to change reality to feed your Romo hate.

Do you also realize that Romo creating time for his receivers to get open with his spinning and ducking is different than "self imposed pressure". You say he held the ball too long and should have thrown it away? When? Did you not see the result of these plays where he "Held the ball too long"?

As far as the pressure being on....With the way our offense has been playing and your number 2 receiver still out dont you think having Manning and the broncos score every time they touched the ball was putting the pressure on the entire game? What about when the broncos go up by double digits on you and they are showing no signs of slowing down? Sounds like pressure.
