If that’s true, and it may be, then the Cowboys D is shaped by whoever the D coordinator is. Not the front office. Is that good? Maybe?

Look how the FO has shaped the team the past 25 years. Imo, they have no clue. Sad, really sad. GM/Owner doesn't know football as he think he does, Marketing yes, fielding a team, well, just look at the results...No.

Hope the DC can put the pieces together and build something better than last year. Lots to work with (depth), hopefully with enough quality ones.
