Dallas would have to move somethings around for next year to keep Romo, Dez and Hardy but it can be done, especially if Hardy and Dez sign extensions.

Hardy will get 10m+ a year if returns to form
Romo doesn't have much wiggle room next year on his contract, his base is only 8.5m
If Dez has to be tagged again it will cost 15.4m

Dallas is already 26m under the projected cap of 150m
If Carr is ever cut they will remove a big hit
Free's hit is more manageable next year

Yeah, Dallas will have no problem keeping all 3 of those guys long term if that's what they want to do. Edge rusher is certainly a position that Dallas would have no problem paying big for if the player is good enough... and if Hardy does return to form, like you mentioned, then Dallas will keep him long-term.

my hope is that hardy has a great year and help this team win some playoff games this year. also I hope that lawerence and Gregory develop in pass rushers this year so we do not have to pay hardy and we can just draft another good young defensive end so that we can save on the future cap salaries.

Next year: Cut Carr, restructure Tyron and there will be plenty of cap space.

You bring up an interesting point about TSmith.

He only got 22m guaranteed on a 8/97.6m extension. But his contract is now like an annual ATM for cap space. That pretty much guarantees his salary every March.

As long as he stays healthy he will be a Cowboy. That is the type of deal Dez could have and actual see 80-90% of the contract instead of asking for the moon and only seeing 40% of the deal and leaving Dallas in 2-3 years.

That's the ideal situation
If those guys can develope and you don't have to pay free agent money to a pass rusher
That would be a dream scenario and a huge cap impact. Those guys are cheap

We made the room for Ware (with NFL contract inflation involved) and should for Hardy as well.

Not next year. Romo is only due 8.5m.

Even the Romophobes can't argue with that.

The might even begin to realize what a great signing it was.
