First of all, the fact that we are even discussing interceptions is ridiculous. The Cowboys did not lose that game because Dak threw two INT's
After Dak's first INT, the Lions still had to take the ball 80 yards to score....which they did.
The 2nd INT came with a score of 40-9. At this point, it's not about protecting the ball.
Dak is playing behind two rookies with no running attack while losing by at least two scores most of these games. He is constantly being chased across the field while looking for an open receiver.
There is no play action running because no defense is going to be sucked in. That's because there is nothing scary about the Cowboys RB's.
Often, a good quarterback will win you a game. Sometimes, he is a non-factor. There are occasions were even a good quarterback will be a liability.
Few remember that Tom Brady threw three INT's in three consecutive drives in the NFC championship game with the Bucs. It was the Buc defense that made sure Brady didn't have to pay for those mistakes. That is what good teams do.
The Cowboys have a poor defense right now. Most is due to injury, some to a new defense and some to a flawed personnel strategy. This is far more responsible for their current standing than Dak.
There is no other QB in the league today, or perhaps even in the past that has been expected to shoulder the burden given Dak.
The fact that Dak is the "highest paid player in history" is not the result of ability matching expectations, it was simply the mismanagement and incompetence of the top decision makers for the Cowboys football operations.
Fans should stop the convenient, but lazy, method of choosing a single player to scapegoat. They should put the blame where it belongs....where it has always belonged.
The Dallas Cowboys are poorly structured, poorly operated, and poorly managed, no matter the quality of players.
