I just started doing testosterone injections to enhance my workouts.
Would testosterone be considered a PED in the NFL?

Gregory is trying to add bulk this offseason. I assume muscle and not fat??

Isn't it impossible to add 10 or 20 pounds of muscle in such a short time without PEDs?

I started working out a few years ago and it took me a year to add 20 pounds of muscle.

Every time I look at your avatar and status I chuckle. I love the Butt Monkey. You ain't so bad either. :)

No, you didn't. Unless you were injecting yourself with some test prop, tren ace, and maybe some winny. It's physically impossible for the human body to naturally add that amount of muscle in such a short period of time. Don't try to make people believe that.

Stop being a jerk... I went into the Navy at 165 lbs. I got out of boot camp 2 months later at 188 lbs. I progressed into body building during my off duty time and gained another 30 lbs.... all while maintaining 6-8% body fat. We did drug tests all the time and I wouldn't put that crap into my body anyways. The only thing I took that wasn't "food" was protein powder with creatine and smilex root to offset the lactic burn. Don't try and tell me my own personal accomplishments didn't happen.

It is really easy to add 10-15 pounds of bodyweight if you are starting fresh.

But it can be really hard for a guy to add that weight as an athlete needing to stay in extreme cardio condition.

The plan I'd design is very simple.

5 meals per day of 1000 calories each. Fairly even split between protein, carbs and fats.
A 5 x 5 Olympic lifts workout 3 times per week and max out single lift exercises days every 4th weekly workout.
Creatine load during the workout.

Any cardio would be done in the pool.

Yeah you didn't put on 20 pounds of muscle in 3 months.

That's bioscience.

Actually I put on 30 in 10 weeks of Marine Corps boot camp. I went from 155 to 196 in ten weeks. I remember eating a small amount at first. At the end my tray was filled to capacity. Guessing but I'd say my fat was around 10-12%.

You didn't gain 20 pounds of muscle in 10 weeks. Not really interested in debating your broscience.

My dad went from 120 to 165 during Boot Camp for the Marine Corps in the 70s.
So I know that is possible.

Guys with potential to add weight that hadn't previously had access to lots of food and lots of workload can add weight very fast.

I went form 120 to 165 myself as a freshman in high school. I worked out every weekday of the summer on weights, swimming and basketball because that's what the rec center had and I was up there 6-8 hours per weekday. I ate a lot but had no supplements other than gatorade and raw eggs in milk.

You're entitled to your opinion but I went from 155 to 196 in that time frame and I looked very good. You have no idea whether I did or not. And obviously you never went thru Marine Corps boot camp.

So let's stay civil.

Thank you.

People are in here saying things that can only be explained if they were aliens.

Go tell a PhD in human physiology that you gained 20 pounds of MUSCLE in 10 weeks and watch yourself get laughed out of the room.

I was an athlete. I workout 4 days a week. I watch my diet and fix my protein intake.

The land of broscience is filled with stories of wonder. Always bunk. Always exaggerated. Always unverifiable.

Ahhh so you measured that you gained 20 lbs of muscle because.... "you looked good."

Well now I'm convinced.

I did the same... I went from eating crap to eating right ... lots of chicken, tuna, peanut butter and working out with the intent to add quality mass. It's amazing what a change in dedication level and diet can do for a person.

that's a terrible cycle for gaining weight FWIW.

one would use cadaver hgh, dianabol (not winny which is lean enough that female and male strippers take it) as the oral and deca... like arnold did 30 years ago.

tren, test, winny is a great lean builder's cycle but no where near max size.

just taking dianabol you can gain 10 pounds of water weight in a week and and another 5 in muscle.

I smoked for well over 14 years and in 2000 I quit smoking. I gained 30 pounds (155lbs to 185lbs) in less than 45 days. I was not anywhere near fat at 185lbs. (I'm 6 foot tall) It's all about your frame. You can take on weight quite quickly. Even muscle if your frame is capable. The smoking is what kept me ungodly thin no matter how much I ate. (I was flag pole thin at 155lbs)

So because you couldn't do... no one can or ever could. Is that what your going with. Your starting to make yourself look bad. People from all over the world have done it. I wouldn't say a professional athlete that is already at his peak could gain that much in such a short period of time but if your talking about high school / college kids that haven't had a stable and quality diet with a poor habits going to a quality regimen with good food, sleep, and workout routine then it absolutely is possible because it HAS happened over and over again... Thanks for playing tho.

Well it wasn't fat so the weight gain was muscle. It's either fat or muscle. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand where the weight went. My comment was a humble way to say while not completely chiseled I was very muscular. And since LBM and BMI are all over the place for various reasons, looking in the mirror is actually the best way to guide your workouts.

I've had professional training in this so it's mildly annoying to put up with your nonsense esp since they border on personal attacks.

So we'll do each other a favor and avoid any further conversation between the two of us on this particular topic.

I started working out a few years ago and it took me a year to add 20 pounds of muscle.

Body Builders go though a phase where they gain weight of both fat and muscle. At some point, before their next competition they get out of that phase and start losing the fat and get to the competition with minimal body fat.

The issue for Gregory is that the "get fat" and bulk up phase of the off-season has already passed for the most part. He is in the phase where he needs to be getting ready to on-field work and eventually training camp. Then he will be in the training camp and regular season phase of the year. His best chance to really bulk up will come right after the season is over.

Whenever you are working out and gaining weight you're adding a mixture of muscle and fat. It'd all relative to what percentage of each.

As an elite athlete in a professional system where working out and playing football is his job... He'll be fine.

True. A lot of the ratio depends on the person, their metabolism and of course, diet.

Some guys can't do a really high protien diet due to the side effects. Hair loss (minimal), mood, etc.

Again it depends on the person. Some guys are just corn fed..........some guys can burn 2000 calories sitting on their rump.
