With the Cowboys recent trade of WR Roy Williams, plus giving RW a huge contact and the up-side of Austin Miles, Is this the last year that we see Patrick Crayton as a Cowboy?

Will Crayton be trade bait at the end of the year?

I doubt it, due to his big new contract, another wonderful decision by our all knowing GM...

that probably depends on what he does from here on out if he plays like he used to when he's moved back to the slot i don't see why we can't keep him, if anything Sam Hurd and Stanback are the once who need to start worrying about their future here

Hope not, I like PC especially in the slot now that we have RW. We've yet to see all of our O with Romo, Kozier, and FJ on the field.. Extremely explosive, I can't wait. I still say we won't lose a game after the bye or 1 at the most. I truely believe we're just that good but we've gotta be healthy...

Crayton's contract is not huge by any means. He could easily be moved if the front office thinks it's a good idea. With the money we've now got tied up in receivers, I think it could very well happen. I also think Austin will pass him up, possibly by the end of this year. However, trading for Roy Williams will stunt his growth a bit. If Crayton isn't dealt this off season, I certainly see either Stanbach or Hurd gone. Maybe both.

Caryton has been average at best. Austin is cheaper and we could get something back for him.

That is exactly what I am thinking. I think we can get ay least a forth or fifth for PC. He has add value because he is a punt returner.

Avg as the 2nd WR but very good in the slot as the 3rd guy. He works the middle of the field very well, along with Witten....

Again, Austin has more upside and can play special teams just like PC. Austin will give the Cowboys size to go along with RW's and T.O.

Austin's speed can help stretch the field in the slot because of his speed and will be able to get off the jam because of his size.

PC can't.

why do we HAVE to get rid of one of them? 1-4 WR should be set in stone for next season if nothing unexpected happens. What has Hurd or Stanback done to stay? why get rid of a productive player to keep one of them?

I wont miss him dropping easy passes. Besides, Austin is much better imo. TO has maybe two or three years left. And RW will be here a while. Now its time to turn our efforts onto the defense...

Comes down to the all-mighty dollar. You can't have steak on every plate. And the steak here is PC and his pay.

You have cheaper options with Austin and a player who is just as good as PC and his upside is better.

How many times does Dallas go with 4 and five WR sets? Not much. I think they like Stanback and Hurd.

You don't need PC now that the Cowboys have RW. T.O. Williams and Austin Miles could be the future.

Good point. After Owens retires, who do you want opposite Williams, Crayton or Austin Miles? Hands down.... Austin Miles!

If you want to make cap space get rid of some of the dead weight, Crayton is not dead weight. Roy (defense), Henry to some extent Ellis, Tank and Spears these are guys who's not doing anything and all but tank makes more money then Crayton.

Crayton is a damn fine slot WR, keep him AND Austin and start replacing some of the guys who's not doing anything

This year stats between Miles and Crayton...

Crayton: 22 catches, 321 YDS, 14.6 YDS/REC, 2 TD's

Miles: 10 catches, 229TDS, 22.9 YDS/REC, 3 TD's

Who is more explosive? Who has just as many WR yards with the least amount of catches? Who has the better yac?

It clear who has the better upside. MILES!!!!

Given Hurd's injury and the lack of progress from Stanbeck, I don't think sending Crayton would be that wise of a move. Especially with TO being 35 and not exactly rock solid in terms of staying healthy
