If you want to make cap space get rid of some of the dead weight, Crayton is not dead weight. Roy (defense), Henry to some extent Ellis, Tank and Spears these are guys who's not doing anything and all but tank makes more money then Crayton.

Crayton is a damn fine slot WR, keep him AND Austin and start replacing some of the guys who's not doing anything

Crayton is too inconsistant!

Given Hurd's injury and the lack of progress from Stanbeck, I don't think sending Crayton would be that wise of a move. Especially with TO being 35 and not exactly rock solid in terms of staying healthy

After Owens retires, who do you think would start, Crayton or Miles? The Cowboys got RW's because Crayton can't beat one-on-one coverage.

Crayton got a $6 million signing bonus last December. Cutting him accelerates that bonus into the cap. He's cheaper to keep than to release.

This year stats between Miles and Crayton...

Crayton: 22 catches, 321 YDS, 14.6 YDS/REC, 2 TD's

Miles: 10 catches, 229TDS, 22.9 YDS/REC, 3 TD's

Who is more explosive? Who has just as many WR yards with the least amount of catches? Who has the better yac?

It clear who has the better upside. MILES!!!!

As a straight up slot guy i'd take Crayton over Austin any day. Austin might be our future #2 for when TO is done but until he can run those short and medium range routes as good as Crayton and find the soft spots in zone as well is him, Crayton should be our slot guy

There is no need for PC to go, as Owens does not have more than 2 years left at best...

Having said that, I would bring another wr to put with RW as our two startes, because I dont see PC giving what we need as a starter Wr... He needs every bit of help from our Qb, another receivers and Rb to keep attention away from him, and you see what happens when that´s not the case...

That would be very expensive to bring in another WR. We are paying RW's and T.O. big money. You can't have steak on every plate especially with some other holes that need to be filled.

So it's about 1.5 million to 2 million dollar cap hit right? I think the Cowboys could absorb that with no problem.

Sorry, Im not that good with english as I wished to be.
I meant when TO´s gone, I would bring another starting Wr as I dont like PC for that role.

No problem. LOL! I am with you as long it's down the line. If T.O. plays for at least two more years than retires than I have no problem getting another WR if Miles doesn't work out at the #2.

I just have a feeling Miles will be a pleasant surprise and will be as good as the Cowboys hope.

Hope not, I like PC especially in the slot now that we have RW. We've yet to see all of our O with Romo, Kozier, and FJ on the field.. Extremely explosive, I can't wait. I still say we won't lose a game after the bye or 1 at the most. I truely believe we're just that good but we've gotta be healthy...

I think you make an interesting point. WHEN we get all the players on the field at the same time THEN Crayton MAY flourish. TO and Roy, Witten/Barber/Felix... then Crayton out of the slot. IF he is not catching ANY and EVERY thing and DOING HIS PART. He can go.

But until then... I would like to see it work. RWR may just cancel Crayton out though. In comes Austin.

I know he's a messageboard whipping boy and all, but personally I think it's pretty stupid to pay your best slot WR $2 million not to play for you. And we already have a ridiculous amount of money tied up to a rather marginal and insignificant position as it is without trying to spend more resources trying upgrade a #3 WR.

No! only in the overall scheme of things. The bottom line is that Miles could give us something Crayton hasn't given us which is size/speed/explosiveness and overall Miles is just a cheaper option.

With the Cowboys giving up a 1,3,6 for RW's we could try to get something for PC and Miles would still give us a very good #3 with the chance to be a #2 after Owens retires.

Understand? Hopefully you do.

Again, after giving up a 1,3 and a 6 for RW's, the Cowboys can get something for PC and Miles would be the cheaper #3 and eventually the #2 guy.

We don't have time to wait for us to become full-strength. Crayton needs to and has failed to beat one-on-one coverage.

Crayton stays. Unfortunately. Problem is you folks are using this teams receiving corp as a measure stick. Bad idea. Crayton ain't that good.

Stanback, you wanna talk about a waste of a roster spot, and Hurd are gone. JMO.

Time to wait? It aint ever happening.

All we can hope for from Crayton is win and eventual mismatch or misdirection by the defender covering(ie. that game where TO blocked and set him free for TD) or the occasional lucky deflected catch in endzone lol
