Seems to be a belief that he tries to sabotage our Boys. What is the history and when did it began? Not saying I don't believe it but enough people on here keep saying it so I'm starting to belive it. My Grandmother once told me not everyone can tell the same lie. If people keep saying something the truth can't be far off

It started with the salary cap penalty imposed on the Cowboys and Skins. They didn't break any actual rules but got penalized anyway.

Reports were widespread that Mara pushed it through with Goodell and the other owners.

During the lockout he was the head of a special committee that took punitive action against us and the Commanders. His offices are next door to NFL offices so he has access that no other owner does.

Just to add, there were 4 teams that took advantage of/violated the non-capped year.
Although the contract restructures from the 4 teams were approved by the league office, somehow, they violated the "spirit of the game" (collusion on the part of the other 28 owners) as quoted by crane-necked John Mara. It was of no coincidence that Mara also headed-up the special committee on determining whether or not the violating teams would be punished and by how much. I'm sure Mara's integrity was intact when he enacted cap penalties to only his 2 NFCE rival teams.

Like I said, a case of pure coincidence.

Goodell is dying to get on his knees for Mara.
