That's a really good point and I could certainly understand why Zeke would take more issue with the accusation over the amount of games they are asking him to miss. They have dubbed him a womanbeater. That changes the nature of this case considerably, so, yeah, I could see why he would fight this all they way through. I just can't wait for the day that we can put this otherwise ridiculous conversation behind us.
I like this idea.I'd take the two games but the league would have to issue a statement taking back their finding of guilt for DV and impose the two games for simple misconduct and they would have to allow the team to chose which two games he will serve by delaying the announcement until the team chooses allowing him to play until then.
If the league wants this to go away, they'd have to agree to issue a statement retracting their previous ridiculous statement. I'd want them to retract and reissue a statement that upon examination of new evidence, the suspension is actually 1 game for the incident involving the woman's top on St. Patrick's Day under the Personal Conduct Policy. Zeke could come out and issue a similar statement acknowledging that while it was consensual, that public places are no place for indecency and that he understands the gravity of his actions in today's landscape of violence against women and rape culture.
It could be easily smoothed over. But the NFL won't do it -- Goodell's head is too big.
