Questions surrounding Fangio's return to the Eagles

Fangio is a grumpy old man. If he doesn’t get his way, he cries foul. He did this stunt in Miami as well.

I think it will be interesting to see how he relates to the players when Parker is no longer around. Players don’t like him, but he certainly is a defensive genius.

Yes. In light of the Eagles’ struggles in recent years they obviously don’t know what they’re doing. Fangio’s success was all about Parker. I’m sure that’s why he’s considering retirement.

Players dont like him? There is a video of Eagles players begging him to start calling from the sidelines (Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter). So one day after a great play call they can hug him.

Lol

Jaelen Phillips has agreed verbally to stay in Philly next year. Word is that Fangio staying has something to do with his decision. We’ll see. Fangio leaving would be a big hit to the Eagles.

Just saying what I heard from Miami. His a good coach and players just didn't relate to him well. They said he just doesn't want to be there and was thinking of retiring.

Fangio squawking = “ I want a raise “ more coaches coming and going here then an annual Phillies collapse in Sept ….

While probably not a factor, I do wonder if Parker leaving will have an impact on Fangio's decision (either way).

Gannon was already hired and the Browns have stated publicly they want Schwartz back (he was VERY vocally upset about not getting the HC job) so the Eagles would have to offer the Browns compensation most likely to get him.

My guess is Fangio agrees to stay one more year and that allows the Eagles to plan better to replace him in 2027.
Who was it that said something to the effect of the moment you think about retiring it’s over?

like a player, when a coach is thinking of retirement it’s best to let them. They usually do it because their bodies/minds aren’t up to the long grind over 6 months straight it takes at this level.

In October when Jalen has the Eagles relying on the defense again and Fangio is there til midnight trying to give the Eagles a chance he could break.

First of all I don't care what the Eagles are doing but he's done this before the guy's been real close to retirement that's why he only came in as a consultant when they went to the Super Bowl and Gannon was the DC but people are not giving Gannon the credit because Fangio was a large part of the operations even though he wasn't the DC he was giving gannon all the information and advice he needed and then he worked way back in when Gannon got a head coaching job with the Cardinals..

He wasn't sure then he does this a lot and if I was the Eagles at this point where all the coaching talent is being snapped up and almost gone they should have told him you had two weeks after the season decide just let us know but after that you're here or you're not They should probably move to get rid of him versus let him keep doing this every year this is almost as bad as Brett Favre almost retiring 6 years in a row...LOL.

I mean I'm all for that him blowing up that room at the last minute changing his mind and then have to race to get another DC.. I'm good with that I don't like the Eagles but again if that GM was worth anything is everyone gives them so much credit he should have already moved on from a guy who's been one foot in one foot out for a while...
