Big difference since Walsh and Aikman both came in as rookies the same season. Romo I think knows he is 36 years old and on the tail end and has said he had no problem with Dallas drafting a QB and has said he would help that player as he has all others who has sat behind him.

It's true but, the top man at QB wants to feel secure in his position and that the team has to look to him and rely on him to win games.
It's pretty natural for QB's to say they will accept a new "heir apparent" rather than feel confident with that scenario. I think Romo feels
he can play another 3-4 years and I also think Jerry is not going to question Romo's feeling on the issue this year for sure. A good backup
that is no real competition to replace the franchise guy works best I think. I think you could look at the Manning situation in Denver this year
and Tom Brady and know that they don't want any other QB's breathing down their necks.

I think Romo is secure in his position, he has said he is more than willing to work with any of his backups and has done so. Dallas can't screw around and find themselves in a situation where we have no legit QB. You mention Dak Prescott why would we get a QB that you don't think posses any threat? Romo is a professional and no one knows if he has 3 year or 2 or 1 but Cowboys must look out for their future. Goff, Wentz or Lynch will get the chance to sit and learn that is the object to allow any one of them to learn the system understand the speed of the game and not just throw them out to sink or swim. Favre played 3 years with Rodgers sitting on the bench learning and when the time came Rodgers was ready.

Not sure how much working out he's been able to do, maybe legs. But don't think he's been doing any lifting

Romo should just be working on cardio and flexibility, with low weight/high rep routines.

QB's, pitchers, and golfers should not do any serious lifting -- it will just screw up their mechanics.

With the team of trainers he has been working with the last two years, you know he's getting better advice than some of these guys around here who want him to be AAAhhhnold

No I mean his masterful turnovers that put us behind in the first place

This coming from the guy who said he guaranteed if Manziel made it to 10 we would go get him. But no way he'd fall that , but "one could dream"

You've been disrespecting Romo for years now...sometimes in an unbelievably mean-spirited manner. I think you may actually hate him personally.

They guy has his flaws, but who doesn't?

Yeah good luck with that

We are stuck with this dude. He's prohibiting us from getting another QB.

He comes in, looks promising, then gets flicked in the back of the ear, and breaks his back, shoulder, ribs and God knows what else.

That's lame. I know lots of other teams willing to be "stuck" with Romo right now. And they probably will draft a QB. Just not blowing a #4 overall on a guy who's going to sit. That would be God awful stupid.

I hope we are stuck with Romo another 4 years. You guys that are in love with the rookies are funny. This qb class has mediocre at best written all over it

I bet the QB's slide in the draft.

. Go back to my original Post in this thread and tell me what's mean spirited and not just an opinion which is backed up by history

It's amazing how he wins the game but when we lose it's a team sport right

It's always a team sport. He disabled the argument re Romo's personal performance with his player rating and then took away the reflex fallback by pointing out the team also won. In part because of Romo's quality play.

There's no reasonable argument against Romo as a starting QB at this point. He's silenced all rational criticism on the general topic of his ability to play.

What makes you think he's feeling pressure? He's hardly spoken to the press and when he has it's been the same Tony Romo we always get.

I'd be shocked if he didn't welcome a young QB, no matter where we take them in the draft. Tony thrives on competition. The only thing he might have an issue with is not adding a good player elsewhere. But even that's a pretty easy position for the team to defend given how last year played out.

Well the timing of his news tell me he wants to send a message that he's 100%. To me thats him feeling a bit uneasy about having the team use the # 4 overall pick in less than three weeks at his position. He wouldnt be human if he wasnt feeling the pressure, pressure to heal, pressure to perform, and pressure to stay healthy. Of course he's not going to come out and say it.

really? 8 turnovers in 4 games? Injured in 3 out of 4 games? I find that rational criticism. Ultimately time will tell.

Time already told. Some people just don't believe what it's saying.
