Epiphone makes a nice knockoff of the LEs Paul. Since they are owned by Gibson, they should. But the Casino is a sweet box too! I like Epi's.

But I Love Martins! That bassy bluegrass sound! Quincy couldn't touch it!

Ya know, I just got back from the guitar center by me...and I test played a couple of Martins...I could never warm up to them. BUT they had a "Doves in Flight" Gibson that was YOWZA!

I have played the Epi Les Paul...quite good.

Quincy was never given the chance to play Martins.

You ever play an SG (whether gibson or Epi)?

I played a gibson one once and really liked it.

That and the gibson V was about the only comfortable gibson I could play.

Not counting the gib acoustics as I have not had the chance to play one of those.

Must be nice to have some good guitar shops around you.

We have one about an hour away and it stinks and is WAY overpriced.

Would love to go down to memphis or nashville and look in guitar shops, bet they have some beauties.

There are four or five within ten minutes of me...which is a good thing...and uh, a not so good thing.

Then I have NYC also.

The one I was just in had a 1953 Tele selling for $48,000...case extra. :D

A guy I worked with traded for a Gibson Hummingbird about 20 years ago. He didn;t play guitar, so a couple years ago, he sold it for $100. I choked a bit, and told him I would have given him $1500 sight unseen. Then he choked.

Quincy got a good deal on that guitar.

it must suck to be Quincy... errr... aahhhh... <checks training camp roster> ... Butler... yeah... Quincy Butler. wonder where he erred. maybe he stared at BP's man-boobs. oooooh. that would have been a mistake.

everyone from the assistants down to the towel boy living in constant fear knowing their future with the team has nothing to do with performance.

next week parcells will institute... the lottery.

When I was a kid, I sold my 1963 Telecaster for 95 bucks. I was gonna sell it to a kid named Quincy but I decided I didn't want to give him a chance.

Anyway...I took the $95 and bought a Hagstrom that is probably worth $96 today. I could have bought ANY Gibson back then and it'd be worth $15,000 today.

I have played both Martins and Gibsons. Martin just has that sound that I like, but then I flatpick mostly.

I got a Mex Tex Tele for everything else. Quincy Butler has a couple of those with dual Humbuckers.

Don't you live near The Boss? I bet that will be in his collection before too long.

Quincy Butler couldn't afford a 53 Tele.

Who do you listen to?

I'm a Tommy Emmanuel nut.

I have a Taylor 614...it's a bit too bright for my tastes.

How's the Martin Marquis D28???

Fender Japan makes some great stuff, I would by far recommend something from Japan over something from Mexico.

to this day. i'm a life-long fan of weird tales, sci-fi, fantasy and horror. particularly short stories. ray bradbury and HP Lovecraft are like founding fathers to me.

shirley jackson also wrote "the haunting of hill house" - the basis of the original 60s movie "the haunting" which is far superior to the recent, effects-laden, remake, IMHO.

The Boss is about 2 hours from me...but I'm not telling him about this guitar...I'm gonna put it on lay away...and bring it home in 2019 :D

Quincy will be in the HOF by then.

Yep. I didn't like the Mexican Strats. I did like the American Deluxe.

I didn't try any of the Japanese models.

Quincy has to say the D28 is the most copied model of guitar ever made. That tells you something. Nothing is as real as the rosewood D28, or, if you like dressy, the HD28. Personally, I have the D35. I already have a custom D28 knockoff made by a little company called Aspen that is about 30 years old. It is such a sweet guitar that I didn't need a D28. The D35 has a strong bass and is louder than the 28.

Quincy doesn't mind a Mex Fender. Doesn;t matter what you play as long as it is through a tube amp. Everything sounds great then.
