I dunno Danny, I think Patrick Crayton hoisted himself up from 'scrub' status from the start. Made considerable progress for what was essentially a converted QC with some receiver history.

And this year will open some eyes..he's already getting kudos on his hands and route running.

The Anti-AB..character, desire, leadership, and I won't be surprised at all if he end up displaying greater skills.
That's kind of what I was getting at. I have much more hope for Crayton than I do for Morgan.

At the same time, it's kinda a shame that we're forced to put our #3 WR hopes in a converted QB from Northeast Oklahoma State.

I hope he can carve out a place for himself in this league... but let's face it, up to this point, he's a scrub. No one outside of hardcore Cowboys-dom (or maybe some despondant Commander fans) has ever heard of Crayton.

As someone already said Bryant did make some crazy catches. There's always a market for headcase WRs who can catch the ball.

some of the best gems throughout NFL history have been scrubs, let's hope we got one.

Please explain. Keep in mind that Morgan was hurt last year and didn't get a chance to learn the playbook.

I agree here. I'm not exactly on Morgan's bandwagon but the guy has had some decent production over his short career. Let's just hope that he can finally put it together and live up to his potential. Bryant needed a change and he wasn't willing to be a team player......we at least got something for him.

The playbook? :lmao2: "Run Deep Quincy"

Blah Blah Blah...Nothing but excuses here folks....Move on...

Didn't Cle offer a 3 pick for ABryant? I remember at the time Mickey and others saying we had a choice between a Cle pick or picks ... OR QMorgan in return.

I remember BP said in a press conf. that he was optimistic enuf about playoff chances to take a player at the position for AB rather than a pick. By coincidence I remember my stomach turning ...

Excuses? Not hardly. Those are the facts.

Once upon a time we had another converted quarterback from a small school in Oklahoma who was worse than a seventh rounder -- he wasn't drafted at all, and that was back when the draft had many more rounds.

I'm sure he was considered a "scrub" at one time, too... But he's not anymore. ;)

Morgan was hurt last year and he was hurt this offseason and as I recall he had a history of being hurt before coming here. Plus he has had a history of dropping passes and still seems to be doing that same thing plus he had some attitude problems with his old team.

If Morgan steps up and keeps his attitude under control, and stays healthy, and corrects his hand technique, and stops quitting on routes and runs them properly then with all his speed he will be a good player for us. But that's a lot of ifs and here's another if; IF he fails in any one of those areas he will be a marginal player at best.

Crayton came in as a project and everyone knew it. But he had demonstrated a lot of character in getting himself through college and had made the most of his situation. He works hard and gives his best effort consistently not quitting on routes. He has good hands naturally and does not need to correct his technique. Of course only time will tell about his ability to stay healthy, but so far so good. He does not quite have Morgan's speed but other than that he seems to be ahead of Morgan in almost every aspect. For a work in progress he has progressed very well.

Why don't you tell "us" about it?? Are you above conversation on a guy who is considered vital?

Maybe folks are just disgusted with your gloom and despair act, and don't feel much like indulging your ignorance any more...

Antonio Bryant was run out of town because he was essentially an on-field version of YOU-- he had a rotten attitude... getting anything at all for him was a bonus...

If I was the boss and my employee slacked off (routes), got into arguments with one of my managers (WR coach), and with another employee (Key), AND threw a sweaty jersey on my face, he would have been fired instantly.

We're lucky we got some form of compensation. Here we are talking about ST and the punk he is, yet we turn around and act as if Bill had a choice in his move. He was getting rid of a cancer.

(I know AB never shot a gun at someone but you get the point)

I'd rather have Q.Morgan, with all those ''IF's'', and not a _____ Kancer who is ''destroying'' the harmony on our team. this ''kancer'' kan cause us a lot more trouble....Plus we kan have someone else step up in case Morgan doesnt....

Nice move BP...

All he did in Cleveland was drop passes. It's not about learning the playbook for me. He continues to drop passes left and right.

What good does having the playbook down pat if you can't catch the ball?

I am not at all impressed with the guy to say the least.

IMO/FWIW of course.

OK - carry on........

:)

Nail on the head...

Wasn't Antwaan Randle El a converted WR from QB?

Yes, he was. So was Drew Pearson, Hines Ward, and Patrick Crayton among others.
