When I think of who the biggest waste of a roster spot is Quincy Morgan comes to my mind 1st. Way before even Billy Cundiff.

Quincy Morgan is nothing but a drive killer. If the offense is really runnin hot all a Defense has to do is not cover Quincy Morgan and let us throw to him. That would be the easiest way to slow down or offense.

I am not sold on Crayton or Copper. But at least these 2 guys know that part of being a WR is to catch the ball.

I say cut Quincy Morgan right now and get Copper and Crayton more time instead of completely wasting time with garbage like Morgan.

I wonder if we could even get a can of Pepsi in a trade for Morgan. That is how worthless he is.

The reports I'm reading are that he's dropped everything thrown his way just about - no change from last season either - Bryant may have been a hood, but we should have got more back for him.
I don't think Morgan makes week 5 in Dallas.
Brutal...brutal player to watch...sometimes I'm not sure he even wants to ne in the NFL.

Two days ago the quote from DC.com's Mid day report was :
You Should've Seen:
Wide receiver Quincy Morgan's spectacular catch during team drills. Morgan has made several nice catches this week, and this was no exception. He glided over cornerback Anthony Henry to snag a low play-action pass near the sideline.

i really could care less, we got a 4th WR for a headache, he was going to get cut, but istead we picked up another WR for depth, he may or may not be able to catch the ball, but hey at least he's not disrespectig his coach and complaing about BS......like you.

Well that's one thing I'm going to be watching for these next few games is what Morgan does. We are 1 injury away from throwing the season because we don't have a 3rd or 4th so He or someone else is extremely important.

I'm wayyyyyy over the AB trade...it was written on the wall. He may end up being an all star...so what? We had to release Jimmy Smith when we did...it was the wise move, and then we had to live with his great seasons in Jacksonville.

We had to get rid of AB...most of us are just glad Parcells didn't outright release him.

Now, that said, I DO think AB is getting a bad rap since he left. AB was not a problem child or an attitude problem or a cancer...that's BS.

No one worked harder or played with more emotion than that kid...Except for the fact that he wanted the ball too badly and got twisted way out of shape when Keyshaun took his spot, he was a coach's dream...he's not a noted partyier or lazy kid...he's not a guy who sits with injuries...he works as hard as anyone on his team, ala Irvin...he makes great acrobatic catches, and he plays with injuries and through pain...those are all noted facts during his time in Dallas.

He was immature and blew up over Parcells replacing him with Keyshaun...he and Parcells had a rift taht wasn't going to get fixed...unfortunately, he had to go...unfortunately, he will probably be a starting productive WR for years to come.

I'm over it...that's life in the NFL sometimes, but you guys who want to now rewrite history and portray him as a bad kid are off base, imo. A guy can be a good player and a productive player and still be a guy that you were correct in getting rid of. IN one city and with one coach, he can be seen as immature, selfish, and unrealistic...IN another city and with another coach, he can be a fiery, emotional player, ala IRvin or Keyshaun, a player who plays on that edge and occasionally does or says something stupid in the press, at camp, or even on the sideline of a game.

Anyone who doesn't think we'd be better off had he and Parcells been able to put that behind them and keep him on the team is crazy, but it was Bill's call that he was not going to put up with AB, so he's gone....Let's move on, call it a good move because it was necessary, but without denegrating AB as an NFL player....he was respected as a hard worker, and he was liked by many of his teammates....he was not a cancer.

I have no desire to bash him now that he is gone. I hope he gets his head on straight and has a good career. However, let's not employ revisionist history. As I recall it was character issues that caused him to fall to the 2nd round. Here is a sample scouting report from '02:

Areas of concern: ...his head is a major question mark. Already this spring, Bryant's been suspended twice by coach Walt Harris, the final time indefinitely. He's missed mandatory winter conditioning sessions, instigated several fights with teammates and coaches and last January, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct when he became verbally abusive toward a campus officer trying to give him a parking ticket.

Yeah, I quit scratching my head about this one ...

All I have to do is think about Terrell Owens. Great player. But I wouldn't want him on my team ...

Nuff said.

At the same time, it's kinda a shame that we're forced to put our #3 WR hopes in a converted QB from Northeast Oklahoma State.

Not at all. Think about the possibility of him actually becoming a servicable #3 guy ... and remember we're talking about a #3 guy here.

I hope he can carve out a place for himself in this league... but let's face it, up to this point, he's a scrub. No one outside of hardcore Cowboys-dom (or maybe some despondant Commander fans) has ever heard of Crayton.

At first, I thought Copper might be the guy to look out for. But rumor has it that this converted WR is holding his own in camp.

No matter how many times this gets brought up the answer is simple.

We were going to cut Antonio Bryant.

Morgan was just something in return for a guy we had written off.

Well atleast we didn't just out right cut him.

Did we get a new receivers coach I can't remember? But we need to start developing these receivers. I'm tired of seeing these talented receivers come through here and can't learn a thing (ie Randall Williams)

Nick Eatman on the radio show maintained after AB was traded that AB was indeed 'not' liked by his teammates.

It got talked up here, and I heard it myself. Eatman's exact words were that anytime AB opened his mouth, you could see the players rolling their eyes.

I was kinda surprised, as Nick is no gossip.

AB may not have quite reached 'cancer status', (he lacked the impact/status on the team to do that) but it seems everyone was sick to death of him.
Staying on the field when called and getting his team penalized prolly played into that disgust.

Anyway, I read not one player word lamenting his trade, and I doubt it was due to fear of Bill. Things were said in defense of/regret for Carter.

None for AB.

It sounded to me like a collective sigh of relief when he was sent packing.

I wish the AB stuff would die already, it's been a year ago. Morgan is here, let's see what he can do.

Correction: ran off ... and for good reason.

Yet we have Key who has done worse and some of the same things that AB has done and then some. We have people that have found all over Key and he is worse than AB was in many ways.

I do.

From Key spiking that ball in anger on Aug 4, 04, to Terry mouthing some platitudes on BET, to Brown Sugar's rumours of the players claiming the ill luck of last season was the bad "karma" emanating from the release, to a quote here and there about Q's lost mobility asset.

To Bill's initial 'regret' statement..the waste of it all spiel, which he re-stated just last week. It did hurt Bill to have to do it. Anyone who saw him that day could see that

Stands to reason there would be more regret re Q..he was the starter, after all, and the qb.

Doesn't mean he was exactly beloved. But it's clear he had a lot of friends here.
