Quinn coming back is GIGANTIC!!

We will have the same scheme. The players are familiar with it. Quinn can make small tweaks, here and there, to improve it!

Our D was very good in the playoffs. With a few strong pieces, I believe our D could become TRULY DOMINANT!!!! DOMINANT Defense has won a lot of Superbowls. Possibly hire a new OC and use Dak as a true Bus Driver! No, 5 receiver sets. Don’t overly relia on Dak! Relia on the DOMINANT D!!!!!

To become DOMINANT on D( Jerry has actually done this before. He should be desperate to do it again):
1. We need another dominant DE or TWO! (see Charles Haley move) Micah will not be playing DE all the time. Maybe, Sam Williams will step up his game. He has the physical talent, but does he have the attitude, and will to win, like Micah?
2. Upgrade at DT with a HUGE run stuffer or TWO. Possibly, Joseph and Suh will be available.
3. Find the best CB possible!( see Deon Sanders move) My 1st choice would be Jalen Ramsey!

Just think about this D:
Diggs and Ramsey at CB with Bland in the slot( + great depth )

Dominant DE( to be named later ) with an improved Sam Williams and improved Armstrong. Micah gains 20 pounds and rushes from everywhere, or plays more LB and rushes selectively( many options with Micah).

Hankins, Suh, and Joseph( or 2 other big run stuffers )

This offseason we need to use every tool available to build a DOMINANT D( the draft, free agency, and trades). The moves mentioned above, still leave plenty of draft picks to upgrade in other areas.

Build the D STRONGER and don’t relia on Dak as much.

If our D was a little stronger this year, even with Dak’s bad play, we could have beat the Whiners 9-12!!!

We are not that far from a DOMINANT D if a few good moves are made!!!!!

Need a dominant D to protect Dak from himself. :muttley:

I am not sure Joseph or Suh would be the answer. I don't think they helped the Eagles all that much. Do agree they need and upgrade there. Bring Hankins back. Draft a DT for once high in the draft without reaching.
Bland looks like to be a good CB, and need to see if he improves upon that. But yes another shut down corner you can't pass on if there. I seen that the Rams may look at trading Ramsey. Yes, then Bland in the slot. Lewis still has a year on his contract, but coming off a major injury. He can provide some depth.

A legit defense tackle. Osa is good. We need a monster there and it’s a wrap. Offense gonna be priority thi. Continue to build that offense line and gets us a damn receiver

Sign on.

Need a young NT w/ quick feet, a ballhawking FS, and a disruptive 3 tech.

You give up 33 points in two road playoff games I want to see a change come on the other side of the ball .
This. How about we start fixing the real problems instead of trying to make the already very good even better? Yes our run D sucked and the secondary is thin, but in the end they won us alot of reg season games and it wasn't them who cut our season short once again.

This is CowboyFrog's stance as well. It's "probably" the best that can be hoped for.
After watching all the defense did to help their QB win that SF game, nothing short of the 85Bears can help this guy. Naw, that wouldn't even do it either.

Depressing to think of 2 more years of treading water at QB.
But at least the dee will be fun to watch if it remains healthy.

I am all for the Cowboys’ defense being dominant, but I will be happy with consistency.

Maybe DQ really did not get the job so they sugarcoat it by saying i am back

Jerry's been hearing the whining about a lack of weapons for Dak. I expect he'll reach for a WR or something similar, assuming the defense is fine.

Jerry’s problem is he’s an optimist. He always believes in best case scenarios instead of preparing for worst case. The best GMs don’t assume everything and everyone that was good last year, will be good next year. Good GMs always work on getting better and never assume everything that was good last year will be next year too.

He also over-values the talent he drafts. We have drafted well the past few years but JJ has a hard time letting go of players he has a sentimental spot for. Like Zeke. Like Dez Bryant (which he was forced to let go) Like Tyron Smith whose time has come and gone.

Hate to say it, but great GMs have to be cold blooded. Great players don’t always stay great. The best GMs see it before they lose a step. Jerry waits until it’s obvious to everyone. That KILLLS us.

Agree, I've no problem drafting either interior OL or DL with our first pick this year which ever one grades out better.

As it sits right now without changes to contract or roster you can’t go shopping for Dominate players
You have to clear some cap space
And I suspect most ain’t gonna be happy with the only legit way to get the space for any shopping

I'd love to see him go all in on this defense. But I just don't see it happening.

I agree on the CONDITIONING part.

Besides Micah we had a few player’s that seemed overly tired, especially compared to other teams. As Jimmy once said, and I tend to agree, fatigue makes cowards of us all.

I dominate D and Dak is not needed to make as many plays.

We will see how good Suh and Joseph are vs the Niners. If they play lights out, it would be awesome to steal them from the Ugles.

LOL.....We have a DOMINANT D now if we didn't have a turd QB and an average offense(Yes Just Average) we would be playing tomorrow instead of being home watching what could have been.
Wake up man it's a proven fact that our team cannot carry inepto Prescott any further than maybe a wild card win.
P.S. Have you heard of the NFL Cap? I recommend you find out what it entails and the consequences of overpaying Jag players for a team.

I understand wanting upgrades on Offense, but everyone should realize great defense almost always beats great offense. Find a way to upgrade at 2-3 defensive positions and this D can be Dominant. I truly believe if we can find a way to upgrade at CB with a Jalen Ramsey type player, find another big time pass rusher, and get a couple big run stuffers this D with Dan Quinn will be DOMINANT.

Remember the way his DOMINANT Seattle defense, kicked the wholly crap out of Payton Manning’s DOMINANT, all time scoring offense, in the Super Bowl!

Even today, a truly DOMINANT D can stymie a DOMINANT O!!!!!

Keep building the Defense!!!!

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a very good D in the playoffs, not a DOMINANT D. A dominant D doesn’t let pretty boy Purdy drive down the field and kick a FG before the half. A DOMINANT D doesn’t play so inconsistent during the season, and give up 20 points a game.

I understand the CAP and felt we way over paid Dak from day one. We should restucture a few contracts, let Zek and Shultz walk, and ask under achieving Dak to take a pay cut. Take the money we have available and TRY get the type defenders I am talking about. Focus on the D, so Dak can be a bus driver who only needs to make a few plays a game. Get him to start using his legs more too!
