CFZ Quinn is Back so this off-season we must focus on making our D dominant

We had a very good D in the playoffs, not a DOMINANT D. A dominant D doesn’t let pretty boy Purdy drive down the field and kick a FG before the half. A DOMINANT D doesn’t play so inconsistent during the season, and give up 20 points a game.

I understand the CAP and felt we way over paid Dak from day one. We should restucture a few contracts, let Zek and Shultz walk, and ask under achieving Dak to take a pay cut. Take the money we have available and TRY get the type defenders I am talking about. Focus on the D, so Dak can be a bus driver who only needs to make a few plays a game. Get him to start using his legs more too!

What are looking for in a defense that holds the opponents to 0 points and we win with an FG 3-0?

I'd love to see him go all in on this defense. But I just don't see it happening.

He does like the show( glitzy offense ). He has even admitted it, but maybe, just maybe, someone like Micah will sit down with Jerry and tell him, “hey Jerry as old as you are, don’t you realize great D almost always kicks the shi_ out of great O, let me be your Lawrence Taylor, but go out and get me another Charles “MEAN AS_ Haley, and another NEON Deon”! We will win you a Super Bowl before you croak Jerry!!!!”

Someone like Micah needs to wake up Jerry. Micah has enough confidence he may do it!!!!!!

… re-sign Anthony Brown and PUP him
… re-sign Donovan Wilson

As it sits right now without changes to contract or roster you can’t go shopping for Dominate players
You have to clear some cap space
And I suspect most ain’t gonna be happy with the only legit way to get the space for any shopping

I agree it won’t be easy. But we are so close to a DOMINANT D we need to try.

The money we do have, in my opinion, MUST be spent to get our D to the next level.

Oh, in a CAP league teams can have dominant offense’s, but not dominant defenses.

You are correct, but I think even Jerry realizes this D is really close to being DOMINANT. I mean he did steal Haley from the Whiners. That one move was the main reason we won 3 of the next 4 Superbowls!

A defensive player, put us OVER the TOP, not an offensive player.

I am all for the Cowboys’ defense being dominant, but I will be happy with consistency.

With a DOMINANT D it is so much easier for the offense to be consistent. It won’t need to take as many chances.

This. How about we start fixing the real problems instead of trying to make the already very good even better? Yes our run D sucked and the secondary is thin, but in the end they won us alot of reg season games and it wasn't them who cut our season short once again.

You don’t get it. You don’t understand what a truly DOMINANT D would do. I wouldn’t even talk about a dominant D, if I didn’t think we were close. If Quinn left, I would not have even brought the word up. Coaching can help take a defense to the next level. Look at Buddy Ryan with 85 Bears. He had the perfect scheme for HIS players!!

I think as far as draft capital you go BPA in first at a position of need. I think WR, DT, CB are all needs that might be there at 26. Looking at some mocks at this early stage CB looks like the best talent level but it’s a long way to draft day
As for as FA, to me I’d look at keeping Wilson. I think he brings an intensity the D needs. Personally I’d move on from Zeke and keep pollard. Pollard is a playmaker. At this point I think Zeke is easily replaced
To really do anything in FA though we have to create cap space. There are options available by restructing guys like Armstrong, maybe Dlaw. The big bucks would come from extending or restructuring Dak. I know that’s not popular but it could allow you to add a premium FA
