No, it would be like replacing Elliott with Golden Tate. Quinn and Lawrence barely play the same position.

Lawrence is a premier run stopping LE that can get to the QB. Out of all the people playing specifically LE in a 4-3 right now, I can't think of someone hands-down better than DLaw.

Quinn was once a premier pass-rush specialist RE that should probably not see the field except in passing situations. Nowadays he's an unknown, and there's a reason his current cap hit is too rich for anyone, but he's got as good a chance in this system as any other to revitalize his career.
So you think Lawrence is hands down better than Mack and Watt?

If things fall right we could have a deep and talented defensive line.

Hopefully they are successful in trading for Quinn.
Hopefully Dlaw is re-signed.
Hopefully Gregory only receives a small suspension.
Hopefully Taco shows some improvement in year 3.
Hopefully Hyder's achiles is healed and he can return to previous form.
Hopefully Covington can build on his previous success in Houston.
Hopefully Woods continues to impress.
Hopefully Collins can stay healthy and show improvement.

McDowell? Imagine if he is recovered and they can add him cheap.
Another piece or two added in the draft would be great as well.

I am hopefully hopeful.

He is only necessary if we don’t get D-Law.

You're right.

And the team only needs one offensive tackle too. Just let Collins go. Save some money.

Or.......

No pass rush, no pass defense. So having a road gang of defensive linemen that can get to the passer is the whole point.

Move Collins to guard.

Move Collins to guard.

That wasn't the point. The idea the team needs but one stud DE per the guy I quoted was absurd. I was illustrating absurdity with absurdity.

Second, Williams is not a bust, so moving Collins is pointless. I expect Connor Williams to be working his butt off this off season to get stronger. Collins needs to do so as well for his position.

Fred Beard will be back, so I hear. That will change many things if he returns to old glory.
