oh my god what a horrible list, there are so many really bad helmet designs here you would think this is a list or worst designs ever not best. Im surprised someone with such bad taste would think the Cowboys are good.

I'd forgotten just how cool that Oilers helmet was.

I gotta give credit to the Steelers, as much as I hate to, for having two colors on the helmet that aren't even part of the regular uniforms.

The Bengals' remains the ugliest I've ever seen, next to the Eagles throwbacks.

But this is still the coolest helmet I've ever seen...

IMO, the 5 best helmet designs are:
1-Dallas (homer, maybe, but the silver w/ the blue star is legendary!)
2-NY Giants ("NY" version: just has a classic look. Reminds me of Gifford getting his block knocked off by Bednarik on NFL films )
3-S.D. (original version: the numbers make it unique)
4-Raiders (like Dallas, something that should NEVER be changed again)
5-Cincy (I have to admit it, but I loved the uniqueness when they went to the stripes in the early 80s)

When I think of the best helmets I think Cowboys,Packers,Steelers,Colts and the Raiders.
To not have the Raiders in there is ridiculous.
I think the person who conjured up this list is from Philly.
They have the Philadelphia Stars USFL helmet on the list with the Eagles helmet as honorable mention...neither one of those helmets are distinctive in my mind.
To me the best two are the Cowboys and Steelers in that order. The Raiders I would have at number 3.

I might take issue with some of those on the list. For example, the Steelers, but I can certainly understand its place on someone's list given their tradition.

But that less-than-masculine tangerine pirate Tampa Bay went with for the first 20 years? That helmet has no place on any list, anywhere, IMO.

1980's Patriots

Is it just me or does it seem like whenever a team has updated there uni;s..Broncos, Bucs, Pats, etcc...that its always for the worse?

Not only worse, but dramatically worse.
