"The Blitz" - Anyone Watching/Recorded?

Kind of an interesting video they were showing of the defensive coaches meeting. They had lists of what I would assume to be position rankings for the draft. Under the list for "DB!" (yes, I think there was an exclamation point after it), they had Rodgers-Cromartie as their #1 and McKelvin as #2 (I think Phillips, the Miami safety, was number 3). There were a few more, but the closeup clip was so quick I couldn't read it all.

Even though the list could obviously change over the next month, it would be kind of interesting to see where they are ranking guys, especially at corner where who is better than who is disputed.

If anyone has is recorded, I would be interested to know. Thanks.

just watched and I can make out the top 7.

#1 DRC
#2 mckelvin
#3 Phillips
#4 Mike Jenkins
#5 Talib
#6 Tyrell Johnson or Josh barret. it is hard to see and It is hard to tell if it is ARK st or ARZ st on
the board.
#7 Tracy porter

I can not make out the rest of the names right now. It is pretty amazing that they allowed a camera close up with that in plain view in the background, and it is pretty cool that we now know how they rate the db's inhouse.

By the way they have a shot of the full dl and lb board too, the lb board is impossible to read and the dline is pretty close to impossible.

thanks for checkin that out. crazy how they allowed the camera to be that close. it is interesting that they have corners and safeties evaluated together.

There maybe a trade up after all if these rankings are legit. DRC is not lasting to 22, most likely 10-15 range I would estimate.

If DRC is #1, I could see us package our #2nd or #3rd to move up. I dont have a value chart, does anybody know what it would take to go from 22 to say 12?

DRC and not McFadden might be the trade up target I am thinking, I would love to have DRC!!!

I'm not sure on how this works with New England missing their 31st pick. But with a full draft here are the values.

780(22nd) + 292(61st) = 1072

and that equals about the 14th or 15th pick in the draft at 1100 and 1050.

Not in the top 7. I cant make out the names or the colleges after 7, but I know he is not in the top 7.

Why in the world would that list mean there would be a trade up?

It is just a ranking, does not give any clue as to what means we would take to get them, just that they are rated in a certain order.

And that is if you really believe we are dumb enough to let the whole NFL know how we rank the players in the draft.

Well I would imagine the boards are in flux constantly, but on the show they filmed a segment from a defensive meeting this week, wade was at his desk and brian stewart was on the grease board drawing diagrams and the rest of the staff, campo, maxie, dat and the line coach whos name escapes me right now....Anyway the shot was a long shot of the room and you could see the DB and DL rankings on one side and on the other board the lb. Like I Said you can not read the line or linebackers list at all.....Then there is a close up of stewart and you can clearly see the top 7 over his shoulder.

I will capture it and put it up in a few.

Smokescreen. No way they would allow that to be filmed and aired with true rankings in sight. I guarantee those names where re-arranged prior to filming.

I remember hearing an assistant coach talk about the drafting process and he said that they (meaning everyone that ends up in the War Room) would meet twice to go over the boards prior to the draft, I remember being shocked because "twice" sure doesn't sound like a lot of time spent going over this stuff.

I think that by this point in the year, teams pretty much have decided where players rank on their boards though. The only thing that would cause a guy to move up or down are things like injuries or off-field issues.

Unlike us, the fans, they don't debate every single day over which CB is really better or what their needs are because they come to a decision and stick with it.

When they get in the war room on draft day is probably when they make last minute changes depending on who's on or off the board.

That being said, I don't think for a second you let the world look at your true rankings of the talent out there.

It's the oldest trick in the book.........put up the "fake" draft board and allow the cameras to conveniently get a shot of the board.........

ok.........maybe not

I missed it, thanks in advance for posting the capture.

Why would we make a bunch of fake lists and post them in a meeting area? C'mon guys! Our organization dropped the ball. I guess nobody took the precaution of banning cameras in sensitive areas or even screening the video, at least not with Jairiid's jedi like perception and attention to detail! ... very nice catch man!

So now we KNOW that we are taking a DB with one of our firsts. (!)

I remember a few years ago Jerry was talking about getting a request to allow filming in a draft prep meeting. He made it very clear that they took secrecy of that type of info very serious and only allowed the filming because they got to review everything before it was aired and he had final say on what could or couldn't be aired. I just don't see anyway they would allow someone to film and air their true DB rankings. No chance in hell! What would it take, maybe 5 seconds, to re-arrange 2 or 3 names and move the guys you were really targeting down a few spots?

I don't care if its 6 months before the draft. You are not going to allow a film crew to film your draft board and air it. At this point, the combine is over and most pro days have been done. Their rankings are pretty mush set and will not change much except for injuries or run-ins with the law. It's just foolish to think they would allow that info to be aired.
