DRC must be a good one...I have never seen him play

I would venture to bet nobody in this forum saw him play a regular season game...probably the first time anybody knew anything about him was the all star games

and while most reports on DRC are very good, TSN's draft guide kinda throws him under the bus a little. They have him listed as "bust bound" and then say things like "similar to Andre Woolfork in that both had great senior bowl weeks" They say he was inconsistent at Tennessee St and was "consistently beaten by inferior receivers"...."allowed too many catches"..."better athlete than football player"..."allowed inferior receivers to separate and catch balls"..."sloppy and raw technique"

he obviously has alot of physical talent, but I think people expecting him to be a sure fire contributor his rookie yr might be in for a rude awakening. He is a guy that might take a yr or two to develop.

I don't care if its 6 months before the draft. You are not going to allow a film crew to film your draft board and air it. At this point, the combine is over and most pro days have been done. Their rankings are pretty mush set and will not change much except for injuries or run-ins with the law. It's just foolish to think they would allow that info to be aired.

I havent seen it yet, but it could be just a listing of how the coaches rank the players. And yes, every teams lists will change between now and draft day.

Again, you are way overreacting about nothing

What over-reacting? It is merely my position that there is no way those are the final, true rankings that the team will take into the draft. I do feel its possible they moved names around intentionally and allowed them to be filmed but most likely its just not the final board so they didn't care if it was filmed.

I remember years ago when Don Nelson was fairly new at the Mavericks, they took a picture of him in his office before the draft and you could make out three or four draft names on the chalkboard behind him. Amazingly, they actually ended up drafting one of the guys in the second round.

So in that case, they weren't smart enough to hide what they really had in mind. Hopefully we're smarter than that.

That was a cool segment, though. I wasn't really paying attention to it, but it's kind of interesting seeing Campo and Dat in on the meetings. It looked like Stewart was definitely the guy conducting things.

I wouldn't be surprised, now that Bills' gone, if Wade and Jerry didn't even think about it. I remember all the loose lips and access prior to BP's arrival in Dallas. He put an end to that. With the more relaxed atmosphere there now, nothing would shock me.

I totally disagree. Teams go to great length to keep their draft boards secret and we know they even put out false info and invite players in for visits just to throw other teams off of their true intentions. There is no way in hell they just forget and let a film crew film and air their final draft board. The 19 year old intern thats only been their 2 weeks would know not to let that happen.

I just don't get how some people still view Jerry as some doofus who has no clue. The man is very very smart and knows how to play the game.

so should I put this up? I have mixed emotions about this. Obviously since it is blue star media that does this they know what is on the board and in plain sight. So I dont think they care that people see that, it was on cbs 11 for crying out loud.

I just worry they didnt inted for it to be seen and I dont want to do a dis-service to the team by putting this up and having it all around the internet.

I cant imagine they care that people know how they rank the DB's. It means nothing except how they rank them and we can make of that whatever we want and it probably isnt all that important.

so what do you guys think?

You honestly don't think they care if their draft board is known to other teams? Thats crazy! The question here is "is that truely their final rankings that they will use on draft day?" If it is then I promise you they don't want it out there.

I honestly dont think its a big deal...maybe I would if it was closer to the draft, but its 6 weeks away...nobody even knows for sure who made that list, again it might be the list the defensive coaches are making. The scouting departments list could look similar or totally different...as I recall Jones said the coaches and scouts do their own thing, then they meet in the weeks before the draft and come to a concensus

I doubt it's their final draft board. Where they rank the players positionally and where they rank them per round is totally different. THAT would've been huge if so.

Theebs has already posted a list of who were in the top seven. I doubt it's that big of a deal at this point.

those are great points and that is how I feel. I really dont think you can take to much meaning other than how they view these guys as of last week. I am sure after face to face meetings it could be different.

And like you said it looks to be the defensive staffs rankings.

It's the oldest trick in the book.........put up the "fake" draft board and allow the cameras to conveniently get a shot of the board.........

ok.........maybe not

Could give a clue to maybe we really love Cason, and left him off the board on purpose? no?
Or my guess is he's more of a zone corner and he's off our board?

This reminds me of the Sports Illustrated article in 2002 that had the picture of Larry Lacewell in front of the draft board during the draft (they had filled in the picks that had already been made). They had the players ranked overall and by position, and I was able to identify more than 100 of the names on the board and where they were ranked.

Of course, that was AFTER the draft, so it wasn't quite the same.

When in doubt...DEFEND THE STAR. We must also delete this thread and never speak of the list again. :D

Honestly I know very little about him other than what I have read, I have never seen him play other than the senior bowl, and there's only so much you can take away from watching that.

Lots of people who have never seen him do anything are going ga-ga over him in the forums, but I think he may be a guy that doesnt do an awful lot early on. 2-3 yrs down the road he may become the best CB in this draft but I think he is going to have an adjustment period.

I agree completely, I think that at our 22nd pick he may be a decent value but I've seen people say he's the first DB off the board or he's guranteed to go in the top 10 picks.

I also heard what you heard, that he was far from dominant at a school that didn't even see top competition. He wasn't a shut down guy by any means, but this happens every year, some guy lights up the combine and has a decent post-season and people start predicting he'll be the first guy off the board.

It's also happening with Chris Johnson around here, he did well at the combine and all of a sudden he's the best RB in the draft not named McFadden... and in some cases, some thing he's even better than DMAC.
