This reminds me of the Sports Illustrated article in 2002 that had the picture of Larry Lacewell in front of the draft board during the draft (they had filled in the picks that had already been made). They had the players ranked overall and by position, and I was able to identify more than 100 of the names on the board and where they were ranked.

Of course, that was AFTER the draft, so it wasn't quite the same.
LOL

This reminds me of an episode of Coach where Luther says his Mom had a psychic premonition about Pearl Harbor, but got it on December 9th.

so should I put this up? I have mixed emotions about this. Obviously since it is blue star media that does this they know what is on the board and in plain sight. So I dont think they care that people see that, it was on cbs 11 for crying out loud.

I just worry they didnt inted for it to be seen and I dont want to do a dis-service to the team by putting this up and having it all around the internet.

I cant imagine they care that people know how they rank the DB's. It means nothing except how they rank them and we can make of that whatever we want and it probably isnt all that important.

so what do you guys think?

I don't think it's a big deal.

My guess is a lot of their work is probably done regarding "overall rankings", but they will probably tweak their board a bit.

And as for the names on the board right now, no one really knows whether they purposely changed a few names around or if the discussion was just general with regard to players in the secondary. Heck, they could have just written their top secondary players' names on the board to have a general discussion with the coaching staff.

From what I could make out, it was a meeting of the defensive coaches in the room. Not the draft guys (Ciskoswki - sp?).

Yeah, I guess that point it would kind of lose it's significance.

But it was interesting to see how they had the players ranked, and how that affected each of their draft picks. And it's interesting to go back to those rankings now and see how accurate their rankings were.

just an interesting tie in here...

Wade/Stewart drafted DRC's cousin Antonio while at their previous coaching job in SD;
Campo, who is also in the room, picked up Antoine Cason's cousin Ken Yon Rambo while in one of his previous coaching positions.

it has no relevance to the board though, but since the board has been deemed irrelevant by many already, this post could fit right in.

I'm not sure on how this works with New England missing their 31st pick. But with a full draft here are the values.

780(22nd) + 292(61st) = 1072

and that equals about the 14th or 15th pick in the draft at 1100 and 1050.

Thanks.

I think this maybe doable. DRC could come in as the 3rd and could take over a starting job in a year or two.:)

Why in the world would that list mean there would be a trade up?

It is just a ranking, does not give any clue as to what means we would take to get them, just that they are rated in a certain order.

And that is if you really believe we are dumb enough to let the whole NFL know how we rank the players in the draft.

The key word is MIGHT. If DRC is rated as the top CB in the draft and we feel he fits our system better than anybody else, there MIGHT be a trade up to get DRC since he probably will not last to 22.

This scenario makes alot more sense and has a greater chance of happening than the fantasy McFadden trade ups.

This far before the draft I doubt that its the final word. However, I think its probably real as regards what the coaches think at this time.

Just how accurate were the rankings?
