I'm trying to keep it as realistic as possible, so I won't be mocking any trade ups/trade downs since they are too hard to predict, and I won't be having a miracle fall from a prospect such as Patrick Peterson, Fairley or Dareus.

______________________________________________

9th overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Tyron Smith, OT, USC, 6'5, 307 PDs;

I had us selecting Cam Jordan for a while here, but Tyron Smith's impressive combine and his undeniable potential combined with the fact he is only 20 years old makes me believe we may select him here, if he can start from day one at RT its a successful pick, and with the combination of Free/Smith we could have our tackle's set for the next decade.

40th overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Brandon Harris, CB, Miami, 5'10, 191 PDs;

A former first round prospect that has fallen slightly because of his height, that is something im willing to overlook because according to Deion Sanders he had the best week at the combine, combined with his obvious potential it's a great pick. We need a cornerback because of Jenkins falling off a cliff and Newman aging.

71st overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Jerrell Powe, NT, Ole Miss , 6'2, 335 PDs.;

This selection is a no-brainier if Jerrell is on the board in the 3rd and we don't address d-line before this, a d-line of Ratliff/Powe/Bowen, along with Brent still developing is exactly what we need to ratify the horid run-defense post-spears last year. Jerrell has the ability to be a starter from day one, which is fantastic value in the 3rd round.

109th overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Deunta Williams, FS, North Carolina, 6'1, 215 PDs.;

Deunta should be available here with the way his leadup to the draft has gone, and that is great for us. A potential steal if he can get healthy and start playing at the level draftniks thought he would be able to a few months back. Deunta can compete with AoA & Ball to be our starting free safety if we don't bring anyone else in, which looks like a strong possibility at this point in time.

140th overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select DeMarcus Love, OT/G, Arkansas, 6'5, 318 PDs.;

He's fallen a tremendous amount, early in the draft process around September people had him as a 1st round prospect, now he can be had in the late 4th/early 5th. I wanted him when he was a second round pick, and his physical ability has changed he can do it with good coaching. I want him and in the 5th is a potential steal. He reminds me of Robert Gallery, both in the way that people originally projected him as a tackle and how he will likely slide inside to guard, and the way he plays.

171st overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Roy Helu JR, RB, Nebraska, 6'0, 220 PDs.

Helu JR has a similar style, hes got the physical tools and has been an underperformer considering his impressive physical tools, reminds me of Arian Foster on the field when hes on. Well worth a 6th round pick if we part ways with MBIII. He's someone who I have had us getting in every mock i've made, and wanted since October (made a thread in early November about him), I still want him, but now we will have to get him in the 6th rather than the 7th/undrafted because of his rising stock.

209th overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Jake Kirkpatrick, C, TCU, 6'2, 300 PDs;

He has the potential to develop into a starting center in a few year's and it gives us another young big nasty body up on the o-line, which is the top priority in this draft as you can see with 3 o-line selections. Would rather have Kris O'Dowd, but he most likely won't be available where the value meets the need for us.

Hate the Helu, Jr. pick, but this is overall a draft I can definitely live with. Passes my Deunta Williams test.

I could live with this draft.

It address most of our areas and the players, for the most part, are good choices.

Nice job! Not my personal list of preferences, but I could live with it, and you addressed needs with talent.

wasted pick in the top ten, you don't pick RT at 9.

only player I like in this draft is Harris.

Powe is just fat, no strength. NFL OL will over power his fat ***.
Big difference in 330 and strong and 330 and fat.

4-7 don't like any of the picks.

lol @ anyone who suggests smith being taken 9th overall is a waste..

Not only is Smith amongst the possible BPA..but he fits one of our core needs

I personally would love this draft...Kudos to the kid

Is Carpenter from Alabama off the board when we make the Love pick?

I like this mock btw. I'd just rather trade down for Carimi.

Maybe use our trade down picks to move back up for Jimmy Smith.

Carpenter is looking like he'll be a 3rd/4th round pick, and i'd prefer Powe or Williams over him personally.

LOL @ anyone that thinks Smith is BPA at 9.
WHat has he done that makes him a top 10 pick. Don't draft on potential thats how you get a bust. Don't say he is a LT because he has never played LT. Sorry but I can find a RT thats just as good if not better at 17-24.

You always drafting on potential, otherwise you should just trade your picks for players. Smith isn't a safe pick, but he has the potential to be a great LT, and I want a great player on our o-line thats what we need, sure an average RT or so would be a huge upgrade but we need a young game-changer on our o-line, we haven't had an elite player on the line since Allen and I want one, Smith has the potential to be that.

Scott Wright has him ranked 15th and Bunting has him ranked 9th..guess they are clueless too

yeah those guys have never missed on anything before, right.

Sorry but I don;t care where htey have him ranked, I haven't seen anything that shows to me he can start and play better right now over Carimi. Sorry I don't care about his potential.

So why does Wright have him at 15th and Bunting have him as 9th. thats 6 spots different. Wright doesn't even think he is worth the 9th spot.

You don't draft in the top 10 a player just off potential. You just don.t Smith is raw, needs work, and isn't ready to start.

I don't see why people think he has potential as a LT. Carimi as more potential as a LT than SMith. SMith has never played the position.

Carimi has the potenetial to be a game changer on the OL too. No way Smith is better than Free right now. No way am I putting a OT at LT who has never played LT. Sorry but you don't draft RTs in the top 10. Top 10 players should be able to start day one and Smith can not. He is another over blown prospect in the draft. THe draft has them every year. People get lost about hos they look and there athletic ability and they forget about how they played and there skill sets.

I don't understand the reasoning for drafting and of these OTs in the top 10. None are NFL ready LTs.

Smith was also getting a lot of love from Broaddus and Strum on Twitter last night. They also think he could be the pick at 9.

I like the picks all except Powe, and rb, other than that, good picks that can help us

What combine did he have?

Was it a combine in theory like the rest of the scouting analysis people seem to have on this guy?

Tyron Smith is the athletic equivalent to Paris Hilton's acting/singing/celebrity in this draft. All of this hype and nothing proven to substantiate it thus far.

Find me somebody who has never missed on a prospect that has T. Smith ranked clearly below the top 10 and I will concede..

I also said Smith would be amongst the BPA at 9...We aren't talking about one guy ranking him 30 and another guy having him as a 2nd rounder..both wright and bunting have him ranked as legitimate top 10 possibilities

His arms are hug, his apparent physical gifts are outstanding
