Is this the 0-3 Raiders you're talking about?

Just checking.

;)

0-3 yes...bad, no. They lost to all good teams so far. Suspect defense. We better throw on em all day.

Bad? Yes. They have NO defense whatsoever - none. They give up A TON of points a game and have for a while now.

Can they beat us? Absolutely, but that doesn't mean they're good. They have one of, if not the, worst defenses in the league.

Having said all that, they DO score points on offense. Therein lies the danger.

the 0-3 Raiders coached by Norv Turner

Turner's coached against Mike Zimmer twice...in those two games we've given up like 900 yds of offense and 72 pts...we made Doug Flutie and Jay Fiedler look like hall of fame QB's in their prime

we're probably going to lose bad in Oakland...I just cant see this defense being able to do anything with their offense...the only reason it might not be a total arse whipping on the scoreboard is our offense should be able to move the ball and score on them...but I wont be surprised of Oakland hangs 35+ on this defense

Admittdly - I don't like the matchup either. Anytime we face Moss, I don't like the matchup but L. Jordan scares me just as much.

We'll have to be on top of our game on BOTH sides of the ball. We can't be monkeyfarting around like we did this weekend.

I'm less concerned about Turner than I am Moss. Moss steps it up against us like no other player we face. He has eaten us alive many times.

But I do not believe in discounting the record. No excuses for losses or wins. They have lost 3 games because everyone they have played has outscored them. Period. There are no what-ifs, no coulda, no shoulda, and no woulda. I said the same thing last week whne we lost to the Skins. When you lose, you lost. You were not good enough to overcome whatever it was and therefore, you get an "L".

Further, there's no "luck" in a win. You did enough to keep the other team from scoring more points. Anything said to the contrary is just fodder. We were no more lucky yesterday that Washington was last week. We scored more points so we get the "W" this week.

We are 2-1 and they are 0-3. I don't know if we'll win, but we are winning more than they are right now.

They're fans and they can see some holes in our game. The holes they see just happen to be in the areas that they have some serious talent. That talent I'm talking about tears us a new one everytime he plays us. But they are also assuming that all of their holes will all be fixed by the time they play us. It's what fans do.

We'll know next weekend.

Maybe we'll get a bit lucky in that the Raiders confidence may be soft after starting the year 0-3?

The problem is that if the Raiders go 0-4, they also know their season is over. (That said, I don't see the Raiders making any waves this year anyway.)

We have to sort out our defense quickly.

I cant wait for the game.

We almost laid an Egg today, but I'm confident we raise our game play to another level against the gayders.

Sarge if I had to pick my poison it would definitely be Jordan. Moss running up and down the field catching balls is very demoralizing for any defense and ignites the fans. You can bet that Oakland will throw it deep early and often. We have a good enough offense to control the ball and keep Moss and co. off the field. I hope that's the plan.

This is an extremely scarey game against Oak. The way we are letting the deep balls get by us i am having nightmares about MOSS.

Can't disagree with that. My point is though, if we can't stop Jordan, we'll have to put more guys in the box, then...........................Moss.

We have to stop Jordan w/out loading up, up front.

Put newman on moss all game, and have a safety keep an eye on him too. THat is the best and only answer we can provide imo.

I don't expect Dallas to lose by 30, but I am certainly not as confident about winning this game as I was 2 weeks ago. If this team wins a squeaker against the 9'ers, it could be very scary w/ the deep ball threat of the 2 - headed combo of Porter and Moss. Moss ALWAYS kills Dallas, it could very well be a shootout, they won't lose by 30 tho, lol.

Lamont Jordan is overrated, we will stop the run and finally get a win against Randy Moss. The blitz is the key to getting to Kerry Collins. Remember when Norv coached against Zimmer; Zim was using the 4-3 defense that Norv use to practice against with Troy, Emmitt and Mike. So, basically Norv knew the weakness. We are a 3-4 team now. I like the fact that Sean Payton knows Kerry Collins weakness to help Zimmer and the defense. We win by at least 10.

The matchup sucks Sarge.

Remember what we said prior to the Minny game last year?

We could take a hellacious beating if we don't do something about our coverages.

Morning BTW. :)

Morning Winks. Yep - I do remember what we said last year and we were right.

Once again, bad matchup. Let's hope we're wrong (but we never are). ;)

G-morning.

I disagree with that. - L. Jordan is hardly overrated. If anything, IMO, he is underrated. We best not overlook him when prepping for Moss or you'll find out how right I am.

JMO/FWIW.

Certainly the 3-headed monster in Collins, Moss, and Jordan are elements that must be dealt with to establish a basic strategy in the Cowboys versus Raiders
battle next week.

The team with fewer mistakes on both sides of the ball will emerge early leaders, but defense will ultimately decide who walks away victoriously. Cowboys must not get behind like in the 9ers game -- Raiders will capitalize. This may turn out to be one of the hardest fought games you'll have this year.

Good hunting.

Lamont Jordan is a good runner and he can hurt you big time. The 10 point win sounds good but did you watch the game yesterday? We've got problems covering people and we're on the road against Randy Moss and Joey Porter. We can hope to outscore them but they will make plays against us. They'll make them running and passing because offensively their a very dangerous team, playing at home and haven't won yet.
