I choose to give the Rams credit for seeing a window of opportunity and aggressively going for it. Their recent changes took them from worst scoring offense to top scoring offense. And now they're working on improving their defense with proven stars.
And if they managed to swap out Beckham for Sammy Watkins? That offense could go to an even higher level.
Add them to the growing list of teams passing the Cowboys by while we carefully bide our time and try to "hold things together" in this neverending process.
Not a fun prospect, but not something I'm going to foolishly deny either, or make up nonsense to try to cut them down.
Not sure if that was a general thought or response to me directly, but I agree. I love what the Rams are doing and now is the time to do it.
My biggest complaint about the Cowboys approach is that not just the usual inactivity, but mostly that they don’t take advantage of windows. When we have some success they seem to believe it will organically sustain instead of insuring it does. 12-4? Let the opoy walk. 13-3? By entire secondary and Leary.
Also drafting zeke looking like they want to win now with Romo and backdooring it with a guy who’s going to be on the shelf 18 months with a high second. It’s weird.
They also try things once and if it doesn’t pan out, go cold turkey immediately. If we traded a 2nd for Watkins and he left the following year, they would take ten years before making another trade.
So yeah, good on ya Rams, just not ready to anoint their approach yet, as it’s a byproduct of being terrible so long.
