Does Jerry move up if he knows one or the other qb flavor he wants is there?

I have no idea.. The only thing I know that I think I know is that Ramsey will be the pick if he's on the board and both QB's are gone.

If it's Bosa and Tunsil on the board then things get interesting and I think some DLinemen or Eliiot come into play with a trade down.

Maybe we draft Bosa a few picks later as well.

I don't think he does and for this reason. If reports are true in what it would cost.

1. this years 2 and 3rd. So this year your 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds pick will not contribute one thing to winning.

or

2. Next years 1st. So this year's 1st and next years 1st will not contribute one thing to winning.

Those are top picks not helping you win. JJ wants to win now. Giving up picks does not help that at all. We all know pretty much any pick after the 3rd does nothing in Dallas the 1st couple of years. So by trading up using this years picks, your draft is useless this year. Next year, your 2nd and 3rd may help out a little bit.

Long term it's wise to trade up, if they see the QB's as franchise types. Winning now for Romo, trading doesn't help.

We will see next week, how JJ see's it.

Imagine this scenario...

The browns are on the clock. We are watching the War Room cam and Jerry and Stephen are on the phones. Jerry hangs up and there is his big smile and hand clapping and high gives. Stephen is on the phone again.
We are watching the draft and all of a sudden the Cowboys are on the clock...there has been a trade.

The cowboys zone is going crazy...We are picking (whichever QB that the Rams did not take)....They are doing it...they are going to get the QB, everyone is talking about they gave up too much (before we ever know what is given up to move up) some are celebrating the move, some are criticizing the move some are happy some are said.

With the second pick in the NFL draft the cowboys select Jalen Ramsey CB Florida State University.

The zone is in total shock and the internet explodes.

I could totally see that.

As long as they don't give up their 2nd for Ramsey I'm fine with it.

Ramsey is a stud and he will greatly improve our secondary and run defense on his side.

I would hate that more than anything. You don't trade that many points for a DB. Any DB. Ever. Even if he turns out to be a good player, that's bad drafting.

No
Not even sure they'd take one at 4. But that's why they're doing their homework.

If I had my bet Jerry knows who they are taking. He's all buddy buddy with Kronke and Fisher on the competition committee all these years with Stephen, plus the practices, etc.

They say Jerry is the best at know who a team will take as well.

http://www.danpatrick.com/2016/04/1...lubhouse-for-no-1-pick-but-there-were-2-guys/

Les Snead: "We have a leader in the clubhouse."

Jerry Jones: "We're working out Jared Goff."

This one's pretty easy to figure out, unless there's some crazy conspiracy to misinform some other team in the first round for who-knows-what ulterior motive. But that's a little too hard to believe.

With the going rate on DBs in Free Agency I don't have a problem getting the guy you want and paying him 4 or 5 mill a year for 5 years.

Ramsey is a special player IMO and if I have to give up a prototypical ho hum Cowboys 3rd rounder to get him then I do it.

Just know that I will blame you for it if this absurdity happens.

The Dawg Pound might revolt but I will tell you this.

If the Browns are smart they will Take Tunsil and smile the rest of day.

If you look back at their drafts since coming back into the league, about the only time they have gotten the first round pick or picks right is when they have taken an Offensive Lineman.

Joe Thomas has not been happy and might not be there long and word was they could trade him.

Get the best player in the draft. If Joe is gone, play him at LT if he is not play him at RT for right now.

But it is the browns...so chances are if they don't take Tunsil, they will probably make the wrong pick.

If you are the Browns, why not trade with us for La'el Collins, our first, and maybe a second or third? That gets you younger and cheaper at LT. Then trade Joe Thomas to a contender for picks. Maybe even trade the four for more picks.

Listened to Les Snead on The Dan Patrick Show this morning. He was playing coy but I have no doubt the Rams know exactly who they want.

Also, in another post BP mentioned reactions if we traded up for Ramsey... I am a huge Ramsey fan and would be thrilled if we drafted him as long as Goff is gone and we draft him at 4 or somehow lower. Would not trade up for him.

You know I made the wise crack comment about this is not the movie Draft Day.

HOWEVER...after thinking about it.

I could see the Titans sitting at one and planning to take Tunsil but all of a sudden they get an offer just too good to pass up.

So they trade down.

Now what happens if Tunsil falls to 4 and they call up jerry with a good offer to trade up and get the man they wanted all along.

They could still get Tunsil and they could still have extra picks left over from teh Rams Trade.

Now...THAT would be fun to see.

That's the scenario I'm dreaming about, assuming both the quarterbacks are gone.

Speaking of Draft Day the movie, how was it? I was thinking about "renting" it before this year's draft. I never saw it, but I've been meaning to.

We're not giving up Collins. He's too good, and he's dirty cheap. :D

Totally unbelievable and silly in that aspect. Also a forced Love story and drama with the mama so the womens can watch and like it too.

After you get around that...still pretty good if like Costner.

That will suck and I will cry but I'll take a few moments between picks to gain my composure and then go all in on hoping the Chargers take Tunsil and pass on Ramsey.

If Dallas lands Ramsey ill be pretty happy.

Worst case scenario though is the first 3 picks are QB, QB, Ramsey.. That would be horrible.

As a Bosa supporter, I wouldn't think so, but I could certainly live with taking Ramsey. I'm not even against taking Tunsil even though that's a lot of first-round picks invested in the offensive line. If one of the QBs is there, I'm OK with Dallas going that route, too.

Throw in Elliot and and I've got six players who I'd be OK with Dallas taking at No. 4, even though I'm not as high on the QBs as some of you are. Now, I want Dallas to follow its board and take the best available of that group ... with one caveat: If the best available is Tunsil, I'd probably take one of the others unless there's a sizable talent drop-off.
