Watching this game one night get the wrong impression that running the ball and front 7 pressure can help win games

If you’re getting this impression please turn your TV off and read previous posts by @Idgit going back years and years where he tells us that the running game has no correlation with winning

Running game *effectiveness* does not have a meaningful correlation to winning. Especially outside of short yardage and goal line.

This still has the advantage of being true. It has the additional advantage of not being at all what @visionary is describing, as he still doesn’t understand the meaning of the correlation after years and years of it being described to him in thread after thread.

Now rushing TD by Rams

What are these coaches doing? don’t they know they will lose if they run the ball?

Dak isn’t the top in play action anymore cause Zeke SUCKS. That’s why Goff sucks now. He lost Gurley, and his other RBs aren’t as good as Gurley was in his prime. Same for Zeke and Dak. Aaron Rodgers is doing good cause Aaron Jones is AMAZING. He’s had like 20 TDs off play action this season alone. That’s what a good RB will do for you. Dak and Goff will continue to struggle until they get a worthy RB.

Dak and Goff actually are. Dak in 5 games three more off play action than Dalton in 11. Goff was number 1 in the league and Dak number 2 before he got injured. Thus has been the career of them both.

Linehan had Dak as the number 2 or 3 play action passer in the league his first year and Dak threw like 18 times a game max. Unheard of for a Cowboys offense in terms of play action usage which was just more chunk plays with Romo in 2014,

Someone in another thread had a long diatribe on how “behind the times” and lame Kellen Moore’s offense was, and how smart and progressive other teams (like the Rams) were, running misdirection and trick plays instead of outdated Coryell crap. So much for genius coaches, huh? Rams spanked, Bellichick at home...

If the OL is all backups, the HC stinks, the QB1’s inadequate and his backups suck, with an OC that’s in over his head, HOW is the Dallas offense in the upper half?

This is why Linehan was better than Moore over here. Linehan actually ran the ball consistently. If we had an elite QB with this OL and RG, it would have been lights out.

If we had an OL this year that would've helped.
