Where does this "straight arm" hit Ramsey? Arms were pushing against arms (both players). At no time does Gallup touch Ramsey's torso (chest, shoulder, stomach etc). He's just trying to free his arms from Ramsey who's trying to pin Gallup's arm. Ramsey isn't even looking back for the ball. That's legal. Flopping should be a 15 yard Unsportsmanlike penalty. It's cheating and in theory could be called.

Watch the video from the front. Keep your eye on Gallup's right hand and wrist. There is no push-off. He has the BACK of his right hand on Ramsey and his hand position does not change. His wrist does not bend. if he was pushing off he would have the palm of his hand towards Ramsey or any force to Ramsey would force his wrist to bend. Try it. Extend your arm like Gallup with the back of your hand against something solid. Now try to push against the solid object with the back of your hand using enough force to simulate what it would take for Gallup to push Ramsey back and propel himself forward. What happens to your wrist joint? You cannot push off without your wrist joint bending and your hand changing position.

Go back and watch the video clip again. Gallup is not pushing off he is getting his hand free of Ramsey's arm so he can catch the football.

Of course the refs could not see this at that moment in real time from their positions, but the fact that they could not is exactly why they cannot say it was clear and would get called every time. That is total nonsense. They saw am arm extended and assumed a push off. This is the worst kind of officiating. It like the tripping calls against Dallas last year. Like I said before, I have seen enough to convince me that it was not a push-off, that the refs reacted to Ramsey's acting and not to what they actually saw. I tried pushing off with the back of my hand and realized my wrist has to bend if I apply any force to it. So, unless you have visual, or other evidence that Gallup pushed off, there is no further point in debating the call. It was called. It is over.

Everyone just pay attention to every other game you watch this year and see how many times that exact play is allowed during the year. I think we know it will be quite a bit.

I did not see what Chris Simms is talking about when I watch the video over and over. In fact, focus on Gallup's wrist and tell me if you see the movement in his write that would be indicative of a forceful pushoff. What you will see is Gallup extending his arm about 90% but not fully. Then you see separation, but that could also be because Ramsey let's go of Gallup's arm. But then the telltale sign comes, Ramsey's up body and arms move up as if he was pushed but it is clearly a delayed reaction to Gallup's motion. In full speed it is barely noticeable but in slow-mo it is very clear. Ramsey was faking the PI and the interview after the game he gives it away.

I don't think the Cowboys lost because of this call. But the refs and Simms are being disingenuous saying it was clear and it would be called every time. I see much worse contact than that not get called all the time.

The problem with these calls, just like the Dez Bryant no catch call, is they deprive the fans of a more exciting finish to the game.

Just about every one including Keyshawn Johnson says it was OPI, I have to agree but did everyone forget the missed blow to the head not called on Goff. No excuses the Boys were not good enough to win.

The evidence has been all over the thread and people just don't want to acknowledge it. It's in the tweet, the YouTube video, and the still shot I posted from the YouTube video. I just told you that one doesn't need a lot of pressure to slow someone down while running and you just ignore it. So Gallup had his hand on Ramsey's chest for no good reason at all? 3. Ramsey was using his hands and arms to try to pin Gallup's arm and there was contact on Ramsey's part.
4. Gallup has the right to hand-check to clear his arms of Ramsey's hand-checking.
5. Ramsey and Gallup came into contact with each other, not strictly Gallup touching Ramsey.
6. Gallup's arm extended in front of Ramsey (inside of him), not to Ramsey's body. So no push off (nothing to push).
7. As Defender's back was to the play, he was not making a play on the ball. Any contact on the part of Ramsey with Gallup (i.e. hand-checking) was done to disrupt Gallup's route not to make a play on the ball.
8. The notion that a receiver extends his arm without making meaningful contact with a defender who is not directly trying to make a play on the ball (i.e. back turned to play), is not grounds for OPI. Gallup had good position which was why Ramsey "flopped").

LOL. You're just turrible dude. Turrible. Gallup literally has a hand in the guy's chest most of the way. Clearly extended his arm after pushing off which was caught in that photo I posted below. Now you're trying to sell that a push-off is okay if the DB isn't playing the ball. When people have to resort to this, you KNOW even they know there was grounds for a call.
