1.) Regardless of how the final month of the season plays out, Jason Garrett's job is safe. Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones has said on multiple occasions that he's been impressed with how the team continues to battle despite the disappointing record. A lot of thatcredit goes to the head coach.

"I think Jason is a tremendous coach," Jones said Friday afternoon on 105.3 The Fan's Ben and Skin show [KRLD-FM]. "I think he's done a great job with this football team. ... If you watch Jason's football teams, they really play hard for him. We've had some unfortunate breaks in terms of injuries and other things, but Jason, in our mind, is a great football coach and he's going to remain the coach of the Cowboys for many years to come."

2.) Some have suggested that the Cowboys should tank the rest of the way, putting themselves in position for a top five draft pick. Jerry Jones is against that idea. While explaining his thought process Friday morning, the Cowboys owner and general manager used Darren McFadden's late TD run against Washington Mondaynight as an example.

"I will tell you that the day this season is over that I'm going to lust for the highest draft pick that I could have," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan's G-Bag Nation show [KRLD-FM]. "And I'm going to say, 'Well, crap, why did we make that catch?' But I don't say that today and I don't say that Sunday and I won't say it the next week either.

"I'm kind of like McFadden, who knew for sure we were trying to buy time on the clock, then when you get a chance to hit that end zone, get there and make that play. And that's real hard to take out of the mentality of what we're doing, so there's no way that I would line up in a football game - I've never done it, we've never done it in the 26 years that I've been with the Cowboys. We'll try everything that we've got to win that ballgame. They just mean too much."

Either they're telling the truth or they don't any distractions being that they're only a game out of the division lead. I'll take the former though. "Garrett's a tremendous coach" smh!!

The dreaded vote of confidence, but, I'd be shocked if they fired him regardless of these last few game outcomes

These men are salesmen. This is how they keep the money rolling in. If they tell you they're going to tank, or ditch their head coach, people may not continue to support Jerry's world, or Jerry's apparel.

Jason sure is the victim of an inordinate amount of "unfortunate breaks." Imagine, one of these years things will bounce his way and we'll all see how truly masterful he is!

/sarcasm.

I wonder what he will say if we lost like 12 in a row.

This team could go 0-16 and JG would still be the head coach. Ive said it before and ill say it again. Only way JG gets fired is if he sleeps with Jerrys wife. The only way. And even then I wouldn't believe it.

If my boss goes to the media and tells them that even though I screwed up 4 out of 8 times and my job was still safe I think I would probably not worry to much on improving the product.

Stephen is terrified of bringing in a real head coach. Guys like him have major self-esteem issues (guys who have done nothing other than ride their father's coattails). Garrett will be the HC for the Cowboys for the next 20 years because he allows Stephen the fiction that he is a real Personnel guy.
