Randle the New Marshawn?

Well that's a convenient line of argument. But I still disagree. Eagles looked better this year up front to me. The jury is still out on Dallas' running game.

I will tell you this though. If we play the Falcons and have no or few turnovers and reasonable penalties, and cannot run well over a 100 yards and control the game then I might have some concerns. However, if we run for 150 against the Falcons and wear their defense down in the 4th quarter, then you need to show respect.

I'd like this OL to let us fairly assess the running game over the next few weeks. Right now I'm not sure what the RBs are actually capable of with the blocking they've been getting.

So you're saying the OL hasn't been opening holes because Randle sucks? I see piss poor OLs open up holes much better for as bad or worse RBs every weekend. And if they aren't opening holes for any reason that has to do with Randle then they need to take a long hard look in the mirror and then go out and do their own job.

Bottom line is if they don't do better Randle won't be having a good season and neither will any other RB they could have gotten. I would love to see what the yards before contact looked like against the Eagles. I'm betting it's miniscule if not close to zero. Right now we don't even know what Randle can do. I look forward to this OL taking its rightful place at the head of the table Sunday.

You really should take your rant to youtube, I'd seriously click on it. Our OL is the strength of the Cowboys offense but they are not playing as well for a myriad of reasons:

*Lost a key part of their unit: physical record breaking RB
*Lost OL coach
*Lost best back up
*injuries

That said, OL is far from the problem on this team.

No, they're not a problem on the team, but they have been struggling up to this point in run blocking. I really think Callahans loss is being felt and we may not know exactly how bad. Regardless, I think they will turn it around starting this Sunday against Atlanta.

I disagree. They are at least as good against the run this year as they were last. In fact, they arguably sold out against it with Dez being out more than last year.

Tevin Coleman, a rook, behind an average ATL oline averaged 4 ypc against Philly last week.

When does Randle shoulder some of the blame? Gotta stop believing the myth that anyone can be successful behind even the greatest OL (not saying this OL is the greatest).

Yes.
Yes.

And... The giants game was such a mess there was no game plan... Or... Well... You couldn't tell.

The eagles game was soooooo bad that we couldn't tell... Plus it was the eagles.

I want to see a clean game where we stick with running game...

Then control the game...

Then close the game.... Running...

Then and only then will we know.

Well maybe the OL should actually do its job. Nobody can objectively look at the run blocking from last season and this season and not notice a huge difference, and not in a good way.

Maybe the Eagles did their job?

He had a good game. Still needs to be better. But he could have had about 80 plus yards and we could have probably leaned on the run a little bit more if our oline didn't have a flagathon. I remember a Randle run that was I think for 12 yards and a first down called back due to holding.

I thought Randle played really well. He turned no yards into yards a few times.

I don't.. Circumstances have played a part in the first 2 games.. Heck it may keep playing a part with our QB situation.

Teams have loaded up the box on us and there is more guys than we can block.

Which would be acceptable if they dominated the awful Giants DL/LBs. They were mediocre at run blocking at best that game. I'm not sure if it's the practice time or Leary being out, but something has been off about the run blocking so far.

He is terrible with the media.

In training camp the team setup and interview with him on the Ben and Skin show which is on the Cowboys flagship radio station.

These guys (Ben and Skin) will suck up to athletes/coaches/GMs if those people just play along. If the athlete is nice to them they will continually hype that player and defend him from criticism.

Randle would not come to where they were setup and forced them to interview him near the crowd that was screaming. He was completely uncooperative and seemed to be getting in the face of the interviewer. All of this happened after he was a no-show to the interview the day before.

All he did was make enemies of guys that have several hours per day to either praise or criticize players. I think they now have the top rated sports radio show in Dallas and they are in the prime drive-time spot from 3 to 6. They can easily turn a huge amount of fans against a player if they want to go that route.

And they've been blasting him since then. They called him an unreliable person who they do not trust and basically called him a jerk. For the biggest homers in DFW media, that is pretty telling.

I actually thought Randle showed me more in the Eagles game then any other game as far as making something out of nothing goes. He still goes down a lot easier than Murray and has no push.

That worries me the most until Romo comes back. We need that extra push and for him to break tackles.
