It's a position where competitive players can be found comparatively late in the draft, where players tend to peak early and where the dropoff tends to be fast once it starts, where injuries are common and where you can get similar offensive productivity from short passing game or a committee if you want to.

They have 8.3M but Greg Hardy's contract is structured such that it only hit the cap each week as he get's paid his per game bonus. Assuming that Hardy's plays 12 games, the current cap space is about 1.4M.

You don't count his first 2 games played since they were already factored in as LTBE since he was active for 2 games last year. That adds back another 1.2m.

And there is some confusion to the 8.3m number. Without knowing all the IR guys and who got settlements, that number can be a lot closer to the 11m number.

How do you factor all of that in while paying Dez guarantees and resigning Hardy?

And what about Crawfords escalating pay?

DAL is 35m under the cap next year if they redo TSmith, TCrawford and Carr with cuts to Free and Mcfadden.

They also have another 20m in easily attainable restructures if wanted.

They have to sign GHardy-10, RMcClain-4, CWhite-3, Dunbar-2 and maybe Mincey-2 and Bern-2. Add 6m for a cap hit for Murray with ease.

You do know they restructured almost everyone this year except Carr. It is how they do it and how they should do it.

And 3 restructures next year is not "the entire team".

With 850k in Dead Money next year they can afford to kick some down the road. The cap keeps going up.

You don't get any Accounting Prizes for being well under the cap. You should try to spend as much of the cap every year when trying to win it all.
