Trying to force feed Dez is so old. Who cares if he gets upset. He's not as important to this offense as so many think. In fact, I thought this offense without him last year was much more crisp than when he was in the lineup.

And yes, playcalling is still horrid in the redzone. 1st and goal from the 2 and three straight passes, trying to force feed Dez? Terrible.

We just might have a decent secondary this year, Idg. Even with OScan missing a couple games. Some teams are thin (Eagles), we seem to be deep.

I think we'll finish with a top-ten D (total yds). And with this O, that could propel us, at least, past the Division Round

It looked promising this week, anyway. With Hitchens back and Wilson not suspended, I like the LBs and the front well enough. Lawrence was impressive last night. He, Collins, and Irving all have a chance to be pretty good up there. It was funny watching Tapper play well after the scolding we got this week about ever being excited for him based off of his measurables.

Fuzzy nailed it early in the offseason when he brought up what we'll be able to do disguising coverages once the rookies are assimilated into their various personnel groups. If Jordon Lewis can play--and he can--we've got a lot of guys who can cover, play zone, and play at multiple positions. We've got two starting safeties who can legitimately play single high now. And we've got depth. It could be fun.

I still think we fundamentally need another playmaker or two on that side of the ball to be elite in and of their own right, but with our offense, even that won't be necessary much of the time. If we can continue what we saw last night with moving the ball for long drives while playing hurry up, with a lead, this is going to be a team nobody wants to play as we go along here.

Ummm...this is a DALLAS COWBOY forum in case you're lost. Nothing Lawrence Taylor did would be deemed 'awesome' in my book. He played for an enemy and he was an enemy. So, I would have to say that your 'much higher standard' awesome is a lot lower than you think. Now, if you would have noted Emmitt, Troy, Roger, etc. as had done something awesome, I could get behind it.

Google is your friend. Start by entering 'NY Giant's message board' into the search bar and you'll find your 'awesome' home in no time!!! :lmao::p
Wait. We can't say LT was awesome?

LT was awesome. Awesome

Over the last few years, Dez's catch percentage has been terrible. He's still bad at route running and can't get open. He's only good for an occasional slant and jump balls on fades.
He actually ran some quality routes last night and Dak just overthrew him. My guess is Dez was on point since he wanted to beat Jenkins so badly.

Yes, we're not elite, yet. For sure, Idgit. But if we spend the next two or so drafts going defense-centric, we are gonna have a bonfide juggernaut on our hands. As long as we lock up Martin, and Dez doesn't decline too drastically. With La'El locked up for, at least, two more years at RT.

Juggernaut. We have such an awesome rotation on DL. We just need that one stud RDE (#FreeRandyGregory) and a stud in the secondary. I saw enough last night out of Jaylon to know we have a player. If Awuzie or Lewis emerge to compliment Brown... sheesh, man, we have a damn squad :)

Wow this a cowboys board my bad. So in your galacticly ignorant world only the cowboys have had great players. You need "the Google" far more than I do pal. Try greatest nfl line backers in your Lil search see what you get. Oh and as far as rooting bona fides go. Born in 66 cowboys fan as long as I can remember so get off my lawn. The difference is I can recognize other teams might just have great players too. Sometimes and don't tell anyone, they are even better than my cowboys. I would love to agree with you but then we would both be wrong. Done with you.
Preach, WW.

1) I thought Collins performed admirably for his first game at RT against a stud DE. He did have that one hold and got beat another time, but other than that, not a bad first game

2) Smith wasn't awesome but knowing where he was coming from to where he is now, an impressive performance. And it looks like he has some of that speed back. His running down that reverse looked like the guy I saw at ND. His sideline to sideline pursuit at ND was amazing. The more he gets hit and gets comfortable with the leg, the better he should get. In a few weeks, he might end being a true three down LB with Lee.

3) Bad blow for Scandrick. He should be fine in a few weeks but this guy just can't seem to stay healthy. Hopefully Lewis is ready this weekend and Awuzie is fine as it looked like he injured himself at the end of the game. Awuzie played pretty well based on what I saw. Seems to have really good anticipation skills.

4) I know the Giants OL is awful but I thought the DL did a really nice job. Lawrence was a machine and I thought Paea and Collins really did a nice job inside. Charlton was a non factor but welcome to the party Charles Tapper.

5) Yeah, I don't get the hype some here have for Alfred Morris. He seems to always have nice camps and then is just blah in the regular season. Unless McFadden is hurt, he should be the #2.

6) I thought the play calling was awful at times. I don't like this whole "feed the ball to Dez before he gets upset" crap ruins any flow we have. That one series when we threw three times from like the 3 yard line pissed me off. Granted, if Dak makes a better throw, he does have a TD to Bryant on one of those passes. But three passes from the three is just Linehan and Garrett getting too cute for their own good.

7) Switzer needs some work on kick returns.

8) Does Byron Jones get at least one penalty on special teams every game?

To highlight #6. Play calling. The fact that they had 1st and goal at the 2 yd line and they threw 3 times is frustrating but by no means surprising.

Yeah, remember we signed Morris before we drafted Zeke. They are trying to make a square peg fit a round hole.....
Nah. They're tossing the peg out the back window.

Zeke is our guy. Alfred will most likely be counted as a loss. Not nearly the loss that Thornton was, but a loss.

Zeke is our guy (and as you said, Link, Morris was signed before him. So it's not too an egregious a snafu), and McFad is our backup.

It's easy to get carried away thinking about what it could be like if we hit on defensive players the way we've hit on the offensive ones. We really only need another two real playmakers on defense for me to be very happy with it. And we'll have money to spend on finding it next offseason, too.

Let's hope that since you're done with me, you get back to studying your English grammar & spelling books. And for the record, the :p emoji meant that I was just having fun with my reply and meant no ill-will. Throwing down the word 'pal' changed all that. For your sake, just be glad that my Father taught me to respect my elders. Oh, and the funny thing about the internet is that, 99% of the time, you have no idea who the person is that you decided to call 'pal'. I can promise you that you wouldn't have used that word if this were a face to face convo.

Lighten up and enjoy life and this message board. Most of us are here for fun and enjoy talking COWBOY football.
