Trying to force feed Dez is so old. Who cares if he gets upset. He's not as important to this offense as so many think. In fact, I thought this offense without him last year was much more crisp than when he was in the lineup.

And yes, playcalling is still horrid in the redzone. 1st and goal from the 2 and three straight passes, trying to force feed Dez? Terrible.

Disagree the pass by Dak was high but Dez was open and it should have been a TD. That is not poor playcalling that is poor execution.

This. Zeke needs to be the 1st-down back, the 2nd-down back and the 3rd-down back. Basically, he needs to be in all the time on offense.

Yes and No. Looked to me that Zeke was struggling a bit in that game as he wasn't in game shape just yet. He hardly played in the preseason, and on some of his runs you could see he didnt have that jump as he usually does. I would like to see him out all game long, but I think rotation is the way to go to preserve him. Next game will be tough being in Denver and that altitude. I think it will be good in that game to rotate him.

It was commented on in a few games Sunday. Starters in the 1st game is an endurance test, none of these guys have played 4 qrts in a while. 1st pre season game starters played none, 2nd they get a few reps, 3rd they play half and the 4th none. Season starts and now you are expected to go 4 full qrts. It is the price teams pay to avoid pre season injuries

Over the last few years, Dez's catch percentage has been terrible. He's still bad at route running and can't get open. He's only good for an occasional slant and jump balls on fades.

I can't disagree, but not in total agreement on the part only good for slants and fades.
However, he should be more of a factor, he should be getting by some of these DB's more getting downfield.
I expect bigger game changing type plays from him. He has had some, but the percentage is lower for what he should be doing.

Yes, we're not elite, yet. For sure, Idgit. But if we spend the next two or so drafts going defense-centric, we are gonna have a bonfide juggernaut on our hands. As long as we lock up Martin, and Dez doesn't decline too drastically. With La'El locked up for, at least, two more years at RT.

Juggernaut. We have such an awesome rotation on DL. We just need that one stud RDE (#FreeRandyGregory) and a stud in the secondary. I saw enough last night out of Jaylon to know we have a player. If Awuzie or Lewis emerge to compliment Brown... sheesh, man, we have a damn squad :)
I know it's hoping beyond hope, but I haven't given up on Randy Gregory either.

Let's hope that since you're done with me, you get back to studying your English grammar & spelling books. And for the record, the :p emoji meant that I was just having fun with my reply and meant no ill-will. Throwing down the word 'pal' changed all that. For your sake, just be glad that my Father taught me to respect my elders. Oh, and the funny thing about the internet is that, 99% of the time, you have no idea who the person is that you decided to call 'pal'. I can promise you that you wouldn't have used that word if this were a face to face convo.

Lighten up and enjoy life and this message board. Most of us are here for fun and enjoy talking COWBOY football.
Is something wrong with the word "pal"?

Well, it seems like when they force feed him the ball, it doesn't work out that well. Dak still isn't the greatest at ball placement, so it makes it tough for him to throw it to Dez, who will always have someone covering him, when guys like Witten and Beasley get wide open on a consistent basis. It also helps that these guys run precision routes, so he knows exactly where they'll be. Dez runs lazy routes and is inconsistent.

Switzer will prove his worth sooner rather than later.
I'll say he'll have a decent return or two at Denver. He's too good at it not to.

He tried his patented fake call fair catch and it looked to fool everyone.

I didn't get the "gave himself up" BS the refs were spouting. He stood there for a second, the whistle did not blow, until after he took off, IIRC. so the refs blew that one.

This was his first live game action, so I think he will be doing better. I think he needs some reps on the KO returns, but hope he doesn't give up good field position because of it. I think he will be fine there too.

Generally thought the play calling in the Red Zone left a lot to be desired but this was a beautiful call. Love play action:

1) I thought Collins performed admirably for his first game at RT against a stud DE. He did have that one hold and got beat another time, but other than that, not a bad first game.
