Random Wildcard Weekend Thoughts

I enjoyed both playoff games. So far, Im 1-1. Seriously, who had the Seahawks winning? Crazy how Drew and Peyton, last years Superbowl representatives, are out the 1st round. I love playoffs!

Mark Sanchez > Peyton Manning

Sanchez was terrible all night lucky for him the Colts defense was not very good either how they did not press the wr that last drive and played such a soft zone I have no clue.

The Pats should destroy them next week if Sanchez plays like that

But...Sanchez is 3-1 in the playoffs and Manning is 9-10, he must be better!

Does it piss anybody else how a QB like Sanchez already has 3 playoff victories under his belt in just 2 years, and Tony has 1 in what...5?? GRRRRRRRRRRRR

I know everyone wants defense or OL with that 1st pick, but let me tell you Ingram is Emmitt 2.0. He is a true every down RB in the exact same mold as Emmitt.

The guy is simply a stud with a competitive drive, heart and character that is unmatched. He is exactly the type of player that fits what Garrett described as the 90's Cowboy Way!

I recall Jimmy went into that draft in '90 focused on D but when he couldn't pull off the trades and saw Emmitt there he had to have him. I hope we give Ingram the same consideration this year.

Ingram looks great. However, for all the people that say Felix is fragile need to slow down a little on Ingram. Wasnt he injured about 5 times this season? Now maybe he had a unlucky year. But his injuries probably will make him drop in the draft. I think I read McShay has him projected to go around 20-25th int he draft.

If we had less issues on the offensive line and on defense I wouldnt be totally against getting Ingram. But we just have too many needs at other positions.

As far as Lynch making you want a blue chip type of back..... Seriously? Has playoff envy caused you to overvalue Marshawn Lynch? If you want Lynch you would be able to have him for almost nothing.

Well, Ingram does wear #22.

.....

You can have the best offensive line but they do not score points. We need a RB that can get the tuff yards in the red zone. Also run out the clock at the end. And above all else help ROMO. Mark Ingram is that back that can help this offense in the red zone.Emmitt scored 36 tds in college, Felix Jones scored 20 tds; but Ingram scored 42 tds. Oline can always be aquired by FA, draft or trade. Blue chip rbs come every once in awhile.

Imagine Romo with Ingram, Dez, Witten, Austin and also Felix Jones. Get rid of Choice that kind of back can always be picked up with an ufa. Draft Ingram not at 9 but trade down and pick up more picks. With the extra pick in the 2nd or 3rd by trading down to maybe 20.

So for the first two round picks 1 in the 1st and 2 in the 2nd you come away with
Mark Ingram in the 1st and J.J, Watt in the 2nd along with Stefen Wisniewski, C.

Felix Jones >>>>Marshawn Lynch

I'm guessing this is your 1st time watching him play because that run was the best run of his NFL career. He had some in college but the transition from college to the pro's hasn't gone according to plans for him which is why the Bills went with Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller over him. So do we have a running back that can make that type of run? I think every team does.

I've watched Marshawn and know his game. That's beside the point. The point is that (I believe) we need a blue chip RB. Ingram is that guy.

Once again, for the mensas... I never said I wanted Lynch. I said that run was beastly and it reminded me of something we need. A blue chip RB (Mark Ingram)...

That would be a wasted pick with Ingram. Emmitt couldn't run behind this current offensive line. We need to patch that up before we go spending a high pick on a RB.

Nice post. If we could get rid of Choice (and get Ingram) I would be all for it. I just think we would have to offer more (Felix) to potentially move up to secure Ingram.

We better not spend another first rounder on a skill position player. I know you go BPA, but within reason. We need OL and front seven players after ignoring them for several years now.

Hasn't anyone seen who the Patriots are running out there at RB?

We're not going to patch the whole offensive line in one draft. We had better be looking draft and free agency for offensive line help.

What's wrong with this scenario...

We package the #9 pick with Felix and a future draft pick to move up into the top 5 while also receiving a high second round pick in return. So, in essence, we would still have the flexibility to take Ingram and then take a solid Oline prospect early in the 2nd round. Just random thoughts.. I don't expect anyone to agree with them.

I'm sorry but we dont have Tom Brady.

The Cowboy Way......Roger-Dorsett....Aikman-Smith......Romo-Ingram.....The Cowboy Way.

:laugh2:

Good points. I know it feels like de ja vu..

Can't we also make free agency work for us to retool the OL?

Need? Maybe want. But do not need. We need to stop letting teams score 30 points a game. We need to get a line that can get us the 3rd and 1.

I dont think you will get many people to say Ingram doesnt look like a really good back. I think its just a matter of need vs want. As it stands now our backs are better than most of the back in the playoffs.

Look at the teams currently in the playoffs.
Which teams have better RB's than us?

If Felix was a 4th rounder I could see your point but we invested a first with him 2 years ago. Doesn't seem smart to be packaging a former first rounder 2 years ago with a top 10 pick for another RB. Ingram is a great player, dont get me wrong

Choice and Felix are more than enough in the running game. Get that Oline fixed and we'll be top flight.
