Can all 4 players be bad in a game and still have one that was bad but just not as bad as the others?
Definitely. And if you take the time to go back and look at that game (as I have), you will see that while the entire defensive line was manhandled, the two that were abused the worst were Crawford and Gregory, in that order. If you or anyone else don't believe me, I encourage you to go and see for yourselves.
And anyone that thinks for a second that Crawford is in any way "acceptable" at RDE really needs to watch that game again. He was a total embarrassment out there.
I think, and I could be wrong, that they are saying Randy was the best DL player on the team........ even though they all were bad in that Rams game. I don't think the context was to say Randy was a top DL in the league.
I could be wrong but that's how I interpreted it.
No, you're right, that's what he's trying to say, but even that isn't true. Gregory had a nice finish to the season in the sack column as a part-time specialist. But saying he was "the best DL on the team" is still flat out wrong. "Best" is more than a few sacks over a few games. "Finished the regular season strong" would be more accurate.
