he doesnt have any legit problems. We have a president and people running for president who smoke weed.

The only problem is the dumb nfl claiming its bad.

It's a problem if you're the Dallas Cowboys or a Cowboys fan! I do agree that the policy is sort of hypocritical all things considered, but I don't condone drug use, however, the justice system should deal with items not related to on field football activities and not the NFL. I do support the NFL discipline performance enhancing drugs though. That would be cheating.

I'm disgusted today. For multiple reasons. Gregory - he is what he is, an addict. How can players ever trust this guy again / Obviously the F.O. can't, no matter how they spin it over the coming days (which is really stupid to even try). Compounding this issue is all the other suspensions, which make this one worse right now, but who doesn't think this exact same scenario may play out with McClain, down the road ? or that he may just up and retire at some point in camp or the season ? No one should be.
I don't feel sorry for Gregory, I don't feel sorry for Jerry or anyone with a voice in the front office. I do feel sorry for the players who bleed for this team, the Romo's, The Witten's, The Lee's of this franchise.
How many draft picks have been wasted in just the last say seven, eight years. Between TE's and DE's - my God it pitiful.
As Cowboy fans we all come here to voice our opinion and commiserate with our fellow fans - but the amount of in-fighting just in this one thread is depressing.
Do I have any level of faith in this front office to find a solution at this point for their own mistakes ? No I don't. I fully expect Garrett and Jerry and co. to tell us "We're excited by the young players on the line, we want to see them step up before we do anything".

JJones gambles a lot....you win some you lose a lot more

SPayton- miss
JGarrett- miss
RRyan- miss
SLee- hit
BCarter- miss
Leary- hit
Kiffin- miss
Melton- miss
Weeden- miss
RMcClain- miss
GHardy- miss
DLaw- inc
RGregory- miss
Randle- miss
DMC- hit
CMichael- miss
LCollins- hit
JSmith- ????

Wack list. When did he miss on SPayton? You saying he should've pushed pebbles Lord Parcells out the door a year earlier?Because that's the only way he could've gotten Payton.

And I would call McClain a hit and miss. Melton wasn't a miss either. The guy got 5 sacks and helped plug the middle. PFF had him ranked a near blue chipper the year he played in Dallas.

Ok well from my vantage point its about as poor a defense as you could put on the field in the NFL. And certainly for the first 4 games with no Lawrence.

One pro bowl caliber player, two solid DT's, one 2nd year first round safety and everyone else can be thrown in the garbage as far as I am concerned. And Tapper and Collins are 4th and 3rd round rookies that no one can count on with any sense of reality. When was the last time a 4th round defensive player made an impact his rookie year? And both of those guys were need picks by the Cowboys. They were NOT drafting BPA. At least with if the Cowboys draft board was accurate.

I did forget about Scandric. But he isnt going to save this lot coming off of major surgery.

Again, this is only a comparison on paper to the 2014 defense. On paper they're nearly identical but with some minor improvements.

I'm not taking a side with either of you here but telling him in one post that he's no psychologist and doesn't know how the mind works seems pretty silly when you only a few posts later attempt to tell him how he feels about your comments. When you clearly do not know his mind.

I'm just saying.

You're comparing two people taking jabs at each other to someone acting as though they know more than the majority of psychologists that peer reviewed studies and published it in the DSM?

Probably time to stop "just saying" and stay out of it.

And this finally comes off one's chest...again, and again, and again...Look, Gregory screwed this all up. Stereotypes are dangerous...

Seriously...the sky is really falling now?

I'm only saying, the truth hurts. Clouds have been brewing in said sky since 1994.

Right about that one. If I remember right, Buddy Dial was the only real receiver with sure hands they had.

Buddy Dial didn't join the Cowboys until 1964. The Cowboys traded the draft rights to Scott Appleton for him, and Appleton signed with the Oilers instead. The trade was referred to as Buddy Dial for nothing.

Dial was plagued by leg injuries with the Cowboys, and never showed the form that he had with the Steelers.

For the first season, you're probably thinking of Jim Doran. Frank Clarke eventually emerged as a top flight WR, but he had a lot of confidence issues when he joined the Cowboys.

A source ......

Wow ........ what a answer

In the exacts same article it says he just has a hard time dealing with stress.

Show us where a doctor diagnosed him as bi-polar or shut up with this crap.

Because I guarantee if there as a doctor who diagnosed him wit this ...... the Cowboys would have it all over the place in 3 inch headlines to try and save face for picking this idiot.

Oh sure, let me just go look up his records from college, im sure his private meetings with his counselor are posted somewhere. Tell me again, how long did it take for us to find out about Charles Haley....Ever think, maybe, just maybe, Gregory is embarrassed about it? And doesn't want it out? and yes, a source, usually sources at draft time are the most reliable ones. Sources break news all the time. A "source" broke Bryant's contract before anyone else knew about it. So saying "sources" are unreliable is about as unreliable as your statement. Anyways, im not arguing this. have a good day.

Another issue is that marijuana is not proven to be effective in managing bipolar as it is with cancer and glaucoma. In fact, it actually lowers the age at which people can typically experience symptoms of bipolar.

It could be temporary relief, but the high involves chemicals binding to receptors in the brain that affect pleasure, memory, concentration, and motivation. Long term use can inhibit the brain's normal function at these receptor sites as it start to think it needs the substance for those to fire off.

I'm not here to say it's a dangerous substance. But as a treatment for bipolar, no way.And it seems more and more likely the kids has an issue with concentration and motivation. Now we hear that he's shutting out people from his inner circle. Bad all around.

Even if he is bi-polar, why isn't he on *legal* medication for it? How does it remotely justify smoking pot?

Are you aware of the privacy laws regarding medical records?

They had a doctor on talking cowboys who treated Spellman ..... defending him fighting the cops that time.

I guarantee this guy would try to save his career if it was true.

What's funny between all the addict talk etc., is one one the most revered and best football players of all time was addicted to pain meds that his team gave him, Brett Farve.

The league needs to kibosh the weed ban in the next CBA. We have 2 teams in states where it's legal for crying out loud!

Yah, but that first step didnt manage to suck in 31 other teams.

It is because we have a great system (with s GM who cannot be fired) and we can take risks other teams cannot, and reap the rewards

Just look at how well these have turned out with McClain, hardy and Gregory

I am done with this argument ........ comparing this kids weed problem with Cancer is too much for me and probably the thousands of others on this board who have lost loved ones to a REAL disease.

The people comparing weed problem to Cancer should be ashamed of yourselves.

So I'm a "weed addict" because I enjoy smoking weed, despite my ability to go without smoking for days/weeks/months at a time without any problems? I must be the most disciplined addict ever!!!

And the fatso who eats all day and feels a "cheeseburger dependency" is simply a "food addict"? LOLLLL!!!

People like you are so amusing. But hey, I'm glad you found something besides yourself to blame for your hilarious lack of dietary discipline.

As long as it is nobody's fault and no one is accountable or responsible

Because that would be crazy, to expect one to learn from ones mistakes and be held responsible
