Pointing out that he has mental health issues that are likely the underlying cause of his behavior is not "making excuses"- It is trying to educate some of you people about mental health.

I don't care about his fricken mental problems I am a Cowboys fan I care about this team and if Gregory can't control himself then he does not need to play this game and cost this team. Dallas needs to stop drafting mental cases period.

Im also for it and can not stand the hypocrisy from govt and the pharmaceutical industry but if theres is any physical dependency that is news to me. I believe Gregory's problem has alot more to do with not caring enough about playing football.

I think he's got more significant emotional issues, honestly. But it doesn't really matter. NFL players can't partake, and he partakes a fair amount. He can't be relied on as a teammate, whatever the source of his issues are.

I wonder how much legitimate amounts of marijuana affect an intense conditioning program?

It has to alter one's diet...so, in that regard alone, a dumb move.

This is what I get for not paying attention lately and working instead. Anyway, what is the actual point of cutting him if he did fail another test. Won't he be gone for the whole season now anyway?

I agree he has problems but I also know this is a football team and he is costing the cowboys. I hate to see this happening to him I really do but this franchise has to start doing what it right by the team and the fans. Dallas continues to give chances to players and they continue to spit in the face of the organization as they continue to blow those chances. Enough already

You should know Jerry by now. He's a wildcatter and risk taker at heart. If he see or smells the opportunity for a big win he rolls
the dice and takes his chances. He wins some and loses lots. That's his demon to bear and we've been having to help him carry
it for 20+ year.

there is something wrong with a org that keeps taking chances with so many troubled and injured players no team in the league now has three suspended players the dallas cowboys are the only team in the league that will draft this type of players because the gm does not have to worry about his job my question is when do the feeling of the fans matter ever or never.

I hate to say I told you so, but I did right after the Ro suspension in his thread. That ARandy was next for 10 games. When you fail 4 times in your rookie year you've got a problem!

On another note, rehab for dope??? :lmao2:

I agree and while I don't have problems giving a guy with a past a second chance once you blow that chance Dallas needs to start cutting guys loose.

I've said this before. This is related to his mental health issues - people with mental health problems often use weed and other drugs to feel more normal. Yes, he's gt a drug problem but there is an underlying cause that is not being addressed adequately. of course, that's the story with most addictions. This goes beyond the old 'dude likes to party' story. I expect that him having a new baby caused considerable stress which led to making bad decisions again. Really common story unfortunately.

This is not an addiction problem. It may be a mental health problem. It's definitely an idiot problem.

I can't find fault with your reasoning. I wish we could find choirboys who could play some good DE.

"[...] it would be typical Dallas if you cut him, the rehab takes and he goes on to be a good player for someone else."

I hear fans parrot this all the time. Care to share some examples?

Speaking more from the overall general luck and BS that goes on with this current organization.

He's addicted to the high, may not be a chemical dependency, but still an addiction. I love chocolate chip ice cream, but if my employer told me not to eat it I could.

Have fun flipping burgers the rest of you life. Why do we continue to draft rejects every year, sick of this team.
