He made a difference in 2018. So much debate over him in just the last 24 hours. But the bottom line is he can help the Cowboys defense.

5 sacks in the last 8 regular season games. Then blanked out in the playoffs.

1 more than Lawrence in that time period.

Yeah, I think he started to get a feel for the NFL level. Hope it doesn't take him long to pick up where he left off.

He has the speed to give us what Quinn did, but looked better against the run in 2018 than Quinn did in 2019 IMO.

I'm hoping he stayed in shape. He started off so slowly in 2018 because he let his weight go way down while he was suspended.

He needs to get himself reinstated and back into the building ASAP. No more hem hawing over filing for reinstatement.

With all the football he’s missed that remains to be seen. His career has been start-stop-start-stop for the past five seasons. He’s missed more football than he’s played. The Cowboys haven’t seen him in over a year. Who knows what he has left. His development has been stunted by all the suspensions. He has yet to be reinstated.

What he has left? He hasn't played! He's practically a 3rd year player.

The ups and downs battling suspensions the past five years is bound to take their toll on a player. It’s not like he’s been working on his game the past five years, he’s been undergoing rehab for a drug dependency. You can’t keep starting and stopping a players career and expect them to develop. His development has been severely stunted by all the suspensions. After over a year away from the game who knows where he’s at as a player. The missed time away from the game has added up. In 5 years he’s only been active for 28 games. That’s not even two full seasons. If you stay away from a sport long enough, especially a professional sport where you’re competing against the best athletes your skills can diminish even if you still have youth on your side. It can take two to four seasons for a player to develop and come into their own. A player has to be mentally and physically right to perform at a high level in the NFL.

He's a below average player who doesn't like football.

Other than that, yeah, he's awesome.
Randy has mental issues and self medicates. You're wrong about his love for football, and way off on his talent level.

My issue with Gregory is does he want to play. The NFL is tough. Desire is needed.

He has bipolar disorder not addicted to weed. Be nice!

I actually am a fan of Randy Gregory and understand why smoking weed possibly keeps him on an even keel since he has a bipolar disorder. I have wondered if he ever took prescribed medicine for bipolar disorder or if he preferred to smoke weed as it posed less side effects? Personally I am relieved, due to the approved CBA, that the NFL has relaxed the rules suspending players for using weed recreationally, and hopefully, medicinally.

It appears the NFL is reducing the amount of required testing but I am sure practical rules remain in place, like not smoking while practicing, training, pre-established days/hours before a game - certainly not lighting up at half time.

...and no matter what the CBA says, Texas still does not permit the use of cannabis, even if its for medical purposes.

I'm not wrong about his talent because I've watched him play. He's just a guy. Flashes here and there, but he's a speed bump in the run game and he disappears a lot.

Better than Taco, but not nearly as good as Quinn.

And he could have applied for reinstatement last year, but he didn't. Sounds like a dude out of money. Hope I'm wrong.

What we don't need is Cheech or Chong on gameday out there.

I know a couple of people people who are bipolar. One of them gets absolutely zero results from medication, but weed does wonders. I never actually talked to the other one about it, so it may or may not be the same.

Where did you see him state, that he does not want to play?

Wise man once said actions speak louder than words...

Let me stop you before this gets going because I can tell you are like that. I like Gregory. It is well established on this Forum that I support the guy and think he is a really good player. That said, he has self destructed time and again. It is that pattern of behavior that has me wondering about NFL football as a priority for him.

only gregory has not been cleared by the NFL, ..and he is still quite underdeveloped so he would still have to be a nickel and part time specialist
hes yet to have a full NFL offseason conditioning program since he's been in the NFL.
