from a post at another forum, I have no idea about the veracity of the claim other than to say its the internet, therefore I don't take it very seriously and certainly wouldn't bet on it but given Gregory's history I don't consider it farfetched

Ok. It wouldn't shock me in the least given how he handled last year. I'm dreading it, but expecting it at some point.

If he failed another test...would he be suspended 10 games this year or next year? How does the timing work?

Yeah my doubt in this is they said 10 games.......It would actually be for a full year with his next one, don't know where they got 10 games from.

Maybe someone was counting how many beers they had that night.

The main knock on the field aside from him being small framed was talk pre-draft about his “get-off”. “He was slow getting out of his stance” according to his draft profile by Lance Zierlein on NFL.com. I went back and watched some tape to see if this were true and if so I wanted to find a reason/possible fix.

I stand corrected, I thought it was the same as when Josh Gordon got his next one, and I believe that was a year.

On June 7, 2013, the NFL announced that Gordon would be suspended for the first two games of the 2013 season due to violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.

On August 27, 2014, Gordon acknowledged that the NFL suspended him for one year for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. On September 19, 2014, his suspension was reduced to 10 games amidst the new NFL drug policy. Gordon was officially reinstated on November 17.

As of January 2015, Gordon faced another year-long suspension due to testing positive for alcohol use. Gordon entered the NFL's substance abuse program after pleading guilty to a driving while impaired charge in September 2014 and was prohibited from consuming alcohol during his time in the program. Gordon was officially suspended for one year on February 3, 2015 and won't be able to return until the start of the 2016 season.

On January 20, 2016, Gordon applied to the league for reinstatement.

Josh Gordon failed a drug test in March 2016, according to multiple reports. Fox Sports, which first reported the news, cited a source informed of the test results that Gordon's sample was positive for marijuana and dilute. Both Gordon's "A" and "B" samples were positive for marijuana and dilute, Fox Sports reported. According to the report, the level of marijuana in the wide receiver's system was below the 35 nanogram threshold but the diluted sample is the same as a positive test by the NFL's standards.

Wow well ok, getting high or making millions, seems like a no-brainer to most.

Addiction isn't that simple though, it can be beaten, but it takes more than some fancy rehab to do it. The person has to make up their own mind that they don't want to do it anymore, period. No amount of treatment will control a person when he gets out of the facility.

Some say you have to hit rock bottom, but that's not necessarily true cause everyone's rock bottom is different and the addiction can control some more than others. All we can do is hope at this point cause Randy obviously doesn't have control over his addiction, just hope can break the cycle before its too late.

I heard that rumor as well from a friend of mine inside Valley Ranch. I don't like doing this without having solid information but my friend its just about certain he failed another test and will suspended for 10 games

Lets all pray that the guy I heard this from was high and its not true

Boy this thread turned to pot fast lol

Rynie thinks trolling is hilarious as do most of the people over there. Not saying it makes them wrong but they like to play games with people. It's why several of them over there have been permabanned from here.

They don't like 'Zoners' as evidenced by them giving booze and sbk grief for posting here amongst other things.

i dont even know who these guys are but I realize there is some hilarious drama between three cowboys forums and several of its members and its fascinating to observe. Its the friggin internet, nothing to get worked up about or take too seriously imo but to each, their own...

don't know them either (not even sure I know the other sires lol) I post here and BTB and I write for nflbreakdowns.com. I usually leave at the first sign of petty internet bickering cause I think it's utterly senseless.

Looking at Gregory's tape coming out, I didn't see anything wrong with his 'get off' at all. The only question I had about him was with his size. I think the dude can 100% and be an impact player in this league. Which makes it such a bummer that he's on pace to smoke himself out of it completely.

Correct. Watched him play a LOT of games at Nebraska and he's a helluva talent when rushing the passer. He can be run on for sure but we aren't asking him to play the run...at all. If he can straighten himself out, and put on good weight he will ball out for 5-7 years and be very productive. If not......meh, another JJ gamble doesn't pay off. It's up to RG, but I'm rooting for him.

This is exactly what I am betting on. Please please please Randy, just stay clean.

I know I don't want to hit Rock Bottom because The People's Elbow could follow.

Gregory was asked to do thinks at Nebraska that forced him to read, then react. He'll have little problem in Marinelli's attacking scheme. He just has to prove his teammates can trust him to do the right things off the field. He is worthless to his team if he remains brainless. As soon as I heard him promise Goodell, "You can count on me" during his draft hug, I immediately thought of Johnny Manziel. Both have proven that they can't be trusted. I pray Gregory makes the tough decision, one I had to make after getting married, & gets away from those who would keep him buried in pot.

Marinelli teaches his guys to go off the ball. You can tell because they use a ball on a stick while they're down in their stance while hes screaming 'go' and the like at them at practice to reinforce the technique.

2 years ago Nebraska used a tackle read system. That means you don't go until the blocker takes his first step. It prevents you from getting pinned inside/outside and simplifies the gap assignments on run plays.

Gregory's short area explosion is fine when he goes off the ball.

How good is his explosion when he is sitting on the sidelines during a suspension? And what good is explosion if it doesnt happen on the field when he plays? First he needs to get on the field, then he needs to show up when he gets there. So far he is a big flat 0-2 in both departments.

I was very pleased with what I saw on the field.

But I have said it before, and I will say it again. He let a lot of people down. Its one thing to make a mistake, its an entirely different thing to make it again, and again. And these are just the times he got caught; and he is new. he hasn't had a lot of time to make mistakes,,,,, and he made a big one, by , getting suspended while with the Cowboys. He is a professional now. Not a kid. Its big boy time.

Someone needs to reach him. I think he would be a beast on the field; a real asset and contributor. But, one more time and I would cut him.....I would be inclined to cut him now. but we are desperate....

NO sacks? Yah, very impressive indeed.
